Smoothie King — Restaurant in Rockwall

My first visit to this location, and there was no communication on their part whatsoever. I ordered for pick-up online so I could have more free time on my lunch break at work. I pulled up to their location, parked in their “customers only” spot that stated “we will bring it out to you!”

Google said Smoothie King was still “preparing my order”. I waited for about 15 minutes in the same spot until I saw someone pull up, go inside, and come right back with a smoothie.

The site said “order still being prepared”, and I didn’t want to be *that person, but I was super confused.

I went inside, went up to the counter. The girl looked at me, mumbled something like, “Just one moment”. No biggie, so I waited another five minutes for her to finally ask, “How can I help you?”

… “I made an order online for pickup…”

And she promptly pointed me to a table at the end of their counter where my smoothie had been sitting for however long I wasted, thinking that they were still preparing it, and possibly (or so I thought) to my car.

Come on. Just some communication on the store location’s part would be extremely helpful. I never like the idea of complaining about customer service, because things happen, and I have to work with customers, too. The online ordering thing needs to be looked at, for sure.

I normally do not leave bad reviews as a business owner but I feel like it’s time. I have been going to this location for years because the smoothies are great. Unfortunately they don’t really have any competition which is why I believe their service is now garbage. I get a smoothie at minimum twice a week and sometimes daily. Under previous ownership you walk in and they were friendly and even called you by name. Now…. They don’t even say hi much less know your name. If you are looking for service…. This is not the place. One of the worst smoothies I have ever got. Although the flavor was ok, it was very chalky and had chunks of mushy, chewy I don't know what in it. It was so textured and lumpy that it felt gross in my mouth. I couldn't stand to drink it and I asked a co-worker if they wanted to try it so it didn't go to waste, after one drink he said, "you should probably toss that." I got the chocolate peanut power plus, that I always get, and this was the worst one by far. My stomach hurt after trying to drink just a few drinks of it. I guess I'll be driving further for smoothies...
