Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

My visit to this location was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I came in expecting a decent lunch, but instead, I was met with one of the most revolting dining experiences I’ve ever had.

The moment I opened the Zax Sauce, I knew something was wrong. It was watery, separated, and had a sour stench that immediately made my stomach turn. To make matters worse, the burger I ordered was no better—it was barely warm, the bun was stale, and the meat tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The combination of the off-putting sauce and the poorly prepared burger was enough to make me push my plate away entirely.

When I approached the staff to report the issue, their response was as disappointing as the food. They brushed off my concerns like it didn’t matter and offered no solution—no apology, no replacement, nothing. Their attitude was dismissive and downright disrespectful.

The restaurant itself didn’t inspire any confidence either. Tables were sticky, trash was overflowing, and the whole place felt like cleanliness was the last thing on anyone’s mind.

This experience has left me with no desire to ever step foot in this establishment again. If you care about quality food, decent service, or even basic hygiene, avoid this place at all costs. It’s not worth the risk.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this location that I feel compelled to warn others about. I ordered my meal expecting decent food and service, but instead, I was met with complete disappointment and disgust. Both ranch packets I opened contained what can only be described as an unsanitary mess. The ranch had what appeared to be spoiled or contaminated portions inside, with chunks that looked completely off. The sight alone was enough to ruin my appetite. It was revolting and made me question the hygiene and quality control standards at this establishment. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t seem to care when I brought this to their attention. It seems like a lot of Zaxby's have really struggled to provide good service and food since Covid happened. NOT THIS ONE!!!! We frequently travel up and down I95 throughout the length of SC, NC, and VA. This one is a little further from the interstate, but it's totally worth the extra drive. They have the whole Chick-fil-A drive thru thing happening, if ya know what I mean. My van is too big for the drive thru so we did mobile ordering and I went inside to pick it up. The restaurant was clean, the staff members were so friendly and helpful, my food was ready 2 minutes before the estimated time, and it was just a really pleasant experience. As we sat in the van to eat, we watched car after car come to Zaxby's and you know it's all local because we were not right off the interstate.
