It's an interesting venue. There is a "play" area that is unique. I would call it more of a waiting area. Many of the younger patrons were engaging their parents in a game of Cornhole" or playing on the putting green. I admire the owners for being forward thinking in that respect. So we can agree on the atmosphere. It is a restaurant and not a pub. The staff on the other hand reminded me of the respectful hard working youth I grew up with. That doesn't happen by accident. The person doing the hiring is a key to this establishment's success. While waiting for out of town friends to arrive I was approaching several times to see if I needed anything. This polite encouragement followed me to the ordering station where we ordered and was given our number. Not too long thereafter our food arrived. The waitress was very efficient and asked before any task. Including keeping our tea always topped off. Now for the elephant in the room. Why the 3 stars for food? Take it for what you will. The food could be improved considering the price point they are receiving. I've tried several items on three trips covering about a two month time frame. Nothing I had was bad. They serve a variety of "sandwich" type entrees and BBQ plates. Combos and a'la carte abound. One item caught my eye. They have an item that features burnt ends and crusty pieces. On the menu! Is that a thing? My wife ordered a BBQ plate and must have accidentally got the Burnt meat meal. Since this was my third trip so I decided to at least have their standard Burger with chips. Nothing difficult and fancy. Not even a slice of cheese($1.00). I should have gotten the cheese it may have moistened it up. Not dry enough to send back but $15.00 for a so so hamburger. Things have changed in the food service business lately. These guys and gals have survived a tough time and remain strong fully staffed as well as full of patrons. The price is worth the trip. The combination of the unique experience and the excellent staff make Blossom Hill a good place to eat whether you are a couple or a large family/group. I wish they had Brunswick Stew. That's a BBQ no no! I've eaten at more than 120 BBQ restaurants from Texas to North Carolina in the last forty years and had two cohorts in a passion to hit them all! However my expertise is concentrated In the Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia area with forays west on a few occasions. Did I mention they don't have Brunswick...
Read moreFirst off, the atmosphere and service were great, and I love the outdoor sitting area, but the food was just okay. We tried the hamburger, the fries, and the homemade chips. The hamburger was fine. Wasn't great and wasn't bad either. The burger was juicy, but I was hoping that they would put a good crust on the outside like a good burger joint would give the burger some texture. The bacon I got with mine was just flabby and didn't really add to the burger experience. Like some other reviewers said, the food didn't come out very hot which was really odd. The fries were just luke warm and not crispy at all. The chips were okay but half of them were not crispy and soaked in oil, so I had to pick around them. Another weird thing was that they had one small pepper shaker, one saltshaker, and one pepper grinder in the entire dining area. They bring the food out to you, but you have to immediately get up and go get some salt and pepper for your food if you want any. One change I would make is when you order your food, the cashier should ask you what sauces you would like as there aren't any that you can get yourself. I may go back and try something else if I wanted to sit outside on a nice day but I'm really not sure.
07/24 update - came here again because my wife wanted to try it. again I was disappointed. Do not order the chicken tenders. They were dry and bland. Not even sure how it's possible to make them that bad. Needed to be soaked in buttermilk overnight with some salt and some spices. Honey mustard couldn't even save them. Also what's up with the fries? They are soggy little sticks. No crisp at all. Definitely not worth paying $2 to upgrade unless you like...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting Blossom Hill. We have been longtime customers of Honeymoon Bakery. We got there around 1:45 and decided to wait until 2 so we could order from the lunch menu. It was around $110 including tip for 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child) I ordered the Cobb salad and it was so good. Smoked chicken, bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes, and house made ranch. Probably one of my top 5 Cobb salads I have had flavor wise. My husband ordered the Brisket tray with collard greens, barrancho (sp?) beans, Brunswick stew and he said it was all really good and the brisket was A+ (forgot a pic of his meal) My son had a double blossom burger with pepper jack and bacon. My mother had a single blossom burger with cheddar and extra pickles. They both enjoyed them. My son really liked the Mac & cheese. My 5 year old had a hamburger slider meal and ate the whole thing. We then shared a cookies and cream milkshake and a bourbon butter pecan milkshake. I’m glad the employee at the register told me about the bourbon being strong so the kids probably wouldn’t enjoy it. The adults did though! Overall we had a great experience. Food was delicious, employees were nice, restaurant was clean and had a nice look to it. We will definitely be back soon! We also plan to visit Aventine to finish the trifecta ! Haha
We came back again and hubs had the Smokehouse Burger and I had the buffalo chicken dip and street corn. Another...
