Crawdaddy Provisions — Local services in Rome

They’re baaaaaaaaaaack! After Crawdaddy’s the restaurant closed a few years ago, Rome lost the best restaurant in town. Now they are back in the form of an amazing specialty grocery. They have a butcher counter, ready made meals inspired by the original Crawdaddy’s menu, gourmet items such as various compound butters, and a good beer and wine selection. Today I purchased a crawfish pie and a Cajun whole chicken stuffed with boudin!! The only difference between this food and the restaurants is that we get to cook it at home! I am soooo happy to have them back. Definitely stop by and be amazed!

I was thrilled when Crawdaddy Provisions (CP) opened --one, because I've always liked Dereck and Chef Joan, but two, because it meant fresh seafood that is responsibly sourced! I've become a somewhat regular customer not only for the outstanding seafood but also for the goodies in the take-away case, like the Voodoo Pinameese (Joan's yummy take on pimento cheese), compound butter, and much more. One of the best lobster rolls I’ve had in my 60 years of life, and I’m from New England. The bread was fresh and the lobster to bread ratio was perfect, no skimping here! The salad was lovely too, with a light and flavorful creamy dill dressing. We also bought the pistachio mini shortbreads and some truffle butter and spread.
