We decided to try the Foundry after reading the positive reviews and the gorgeous pics of tasty looking foods on their website.
Upon entry, the place looked pretty casual cool. We actually expected a larger place based on their website pics.
As soon as we entered the establishment, we were greeted by the bartender. We were there with 5 other family members. So, the bartender explained how you order from the counter ( Wendy’s style) and start a tab.
Appetizers were ordered. ( pickled eggs, collard green Gouda dip and the meat and cheese plate).
The picked eggs tasted like vinegar and the cheese and meat plate serving almost made me laugh out loud. I’ve never seen something so pitiful. The cheese slices were the size of a quarter. I’ve never had a green olive that had no flavor at all. Did they rinse them?
Here comes the BLT, beef and cheddar sandwich, chicken tacos and flatbreads. Even my father in law didn’t eat his beef and cheddar which is unheard of, not to mention, he said it had no flavor. All of us agreed that the food was flavorless. My husband ordered the BLT and it had two slices of bacon on it. The beef and cheddar sandwich’s had a very slim grey colored slice of beef that quite frankly scared me.
Meanwhile, we watched the bartender and cook drink the entire time. The patrons were bringing up their dirty dishes to the bar because if you didn’t you would sit among trash,
Cleanliness is not high on the priority list. I could hardly see myself in the bathroom mirror.
I will never go again for food of any kind.
We took our family there for a nice lunch and now we are embarrassed...
Read moreGreat, great, great. This place is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The owner Gorg will be happy to sit down and have a conversation with anyone that walks in the door. Their ever changing selection of beer and wine, including rare hard to find items, make this the best place to purchase beer in Rome. Plus you may come in, order a pint of draft beer, and sip while checking out the wide selection of cans, bottles, wine, and home brew supplies. If you are into home brew, this is the place for you. There is a great group of home brew folks that call this place their local pub. Oh and food, they have some of the best bar bites in town. The menu is small but the quality is huge. I recommend a brat or pretzel bites with home made mustard and...
Read moreWas really hoping to have a great experience here. Travel to Rome every six weeks and have been wanting to try out. Stopped by last night 2/25 when in town to visit Berry College. What a true disappointment! Although the menu reads amazing, have had better food from a gas station. Flatbread pizza was chopped raw vegetables on top of a Kroger bought crust. The Cajun Collard dip was a joke at $6.00, a 4 oz cup of melted processed cheese with a leaf of chopped collards......severed cold was impossible to even eat. Draft served in plastic Dixie cups at $8.00 a pint? Truly have no ideal how the ratings...
