The Sweet Bar — Restaurant in Rome

I placed a custom cookie order for a graduation party to buy a dozen cookies: half the cookies should be decorated with the school logo & the other half with a football. I provided a screenshot of one of the logos & color scheme. I found a decorated cookie example on the SB website (that cookie is pictured below.) I guess i shouldn’t have expected that level of technique because when my husband brought them home, I was shocked at the lack of design & effort put into the dozen I ordered totaling approx. $40. I called Sweet Bar to ask if they had looked at the these before handing them to my husband. I explained that I was embarrassed to serve these to my guests, but the room was decorated & the cookies needed to be displayed for the party, and lastly that I would never place another order with them. I asked for a manager to call me back the next week. The person on the phone said she’d talk to the manager on Monday & ask her/him to call me. It’s been three business days & I’ve not received a call. Good thing I had a 2nd dessert option (btw the Sam’s cookie was delish!) And don’t think the pitiful cookies went unnoticed at the party. I made sure all the women knew where I got them so they wouldn’t experience the same disappointment. I’ve ordered other custom created treats in the past that were well designed & tasty. This really is the best bakery in Rome. They have a drive-through! Open every day but Sunday, I can get my cinnamon sugar cronuts as often as I crave them. The cinnamon rolls are amazing, and the filled doughnuts are really good as well. I bought a dozen doughnuts for my Dr. Seuss Oh The Places You'll Go theme baby shower in September. We made them look like hot air balloons and it turned out so cute! If I had more time I would have asked them to make a custom cake, but the strawberry, blueberry lemonade, orange, and regular lemonade flavor glaze and fruity pebbles doughnuts are always a hit with my kiddos! They always have beautifully decorated baked goods, petit fours, and brightly colored French macarons available in the display case if you have to pick something up quick. We have used them the past 2 years for Birthday cakes. My wife stopped in this evening (Wednesday) to get a cake for Friday. She asked for a book to view cake design options. One girl politely obliged and gave her a book with many designs. Another lady said those are outdated and everything current is online. Not a big deal! So once she picked one out and told her that it was for Friday, the lady said "we require a 48 hour notice". My wife did the math and said it would technically be 47 hours, could they not do it. (Granted her arrival time was within the 48 hours) She told told her that she just didn't think it would be possible. The lady that does them won't even be there, so not sure what the hour difference mattered. No worries we found someone else and wont bother to inconvenience this establishment any longer.
