If it wasn't for the fantastic wait staff and the outstanding bartender this would be 1 star. And, honestly, if the food was half as good as my Old Fashioned this would be a 4 star review. Hats off to Karl -- he takes his mixology seriously and the two old fashioneds where as good or better than the best I have ever had. From the moment I entered I felt welcomed and everyone was super nice and quick to help. And, then there was the food. I ordered the Ribeye medium rare with a side of broccoli. It arrives looking great: the vegetables are a bright green and there is a nice char on the steak. It's hard to really describe what happened to the vegetables. They looked bright and fresh, but they must have been tortured in a pressure cooker to remove any semblance of cell structure. The broccoli just "mushed" once you touched them with a fork. There was no structure left and when I tried to eat them they just turned to some kind of green mush in my mouth. So that was a loss. And the Ribeye, the star of my plate was an unchewable piece of beef. It looked well cooked, but the first bites revealed that the chef had put on zero seasoning. No salt or pepper, let alone perhaps some garlic or onion powder. While the top of the steak had clearly been under a broiler, the bottom was an unappetizing grey. I tried a few more bites and it was just tough and unchewable. A cut that is famous for its marbeling and tenderness was just a flavorless effort to chew. I've never experienced anything quite like it. I gently told them to take it all away and I would just enjoy my drink. To the wait staff's credit, they took the meal off of my bill which I greatly appreciate especially as i didn't even have to ask. My request to the management is to please fix this! Something is very wrong in your kitchen and it needs...
Read moreThis place was such a disappointment. We wanted a nice place near our hotel. Burger King would have been a better choice. I ordered a hummus plate with olives and goat cheese and pita chips for the appetizer. After an extensive wait, the staff came out to say they were out of hummus. They offered spinach dip instead. Another long wait and they brought out a large bowl of spinach dip, a small dish of pita chips and a few olives. No cheese, but 2 slices of tomato and a handful of lettuce, hardly a $9 plate. At this point I didnt question it, as we were hungry. My order of a Burnt Onion Burger, was just that. A hamburger, slightly overcooked, and dry, opposed to my request for medium. The onions were definetly burned, blackened shards of onion. I've never ordered a burned onion burger, but Im pretty sure this isn't how it's suppose to be prepared. Again, we were in a hurry so I didn't complain. The resulting heartburn is a testament to my poor decision. The wait staff was suitable, and we enjoyed the wall fountain. Would not...
Read moreMy husband and I came here for the 1st time. The atmosphere was dull, no music, and it smelled musty. We waited to be seated for at least 3 to 4 minutes, and it wasn't because it was busy. There was a couple at the bar that was being taken care of, and as I was observing there were five people sitting and eating, I noticed three servers in the back talking among themselves. Finally, we were seated, and our order was taken. It took an exceptionally long time for just our drinks. My husband's burger was well done when asked to be medium well, his drink was poured improperly, and my salad was taken over with croutons. Our server was kind but acted upset after informing her how the drink was not correct. We asked for ketchup and that came out extremely late, to where by the time she brought it the food he was eating was nearly finished. This restaurant needs a ton of improvements including their staffing and cooks. We will not being coming back to...
