To most, this may seem like a silly review as I have not actually stayed at this hotel, so I have literally no input about that particular aspect of this place. I found myself here recently, for a job interview (not for working here though). A lot of local businesses will use hotels like this as meeting places for potential clients or employees (especially companies that work out of the airport or the surrounding areas). This place has conference rooms, so it makes job related activities like this very easy and streamlined.
If you're not familiar with the area, due to the close proximity to Metro Airport, things are very, VERY busy around here. There are tons of parking lots, hotels, restaurants, and pretty much everything else you'd find in a busy city area that is near an airport. With that being said, I had zero problem finding a parking spot here when I visited. There are multiple hotels that sit close to one another and they share parking so, I don't really think parking will be an issue here, unless maybe it was a holiday or something and it was considerably busier than normal.
When you walk in, you'll notice that things are very new/modern looking, and clean. There is ample seating in the lobby area, and should you have any questions about anything, finding someone at the front desk to help you is quite easy. There is also a little "pantry" area near the front desk where you can buy overpriced snacks and other essential items you might be running low on.
Perhaps one of the favorite parts of a hotel for many, this hotel also has a bar area that is in the downstairs lobby area. This part I was unable to partake in, as I was here for a job interview, and the bar was actually closed at the time. What I can tell you is that it's nothing special looking, quite small, but seemingly fine for this type of an establishment.
When all is said and done, based upon what little I did here, I would have no problem staying here for a few days/nights if I needed to. All of the employees I had contact with were very friendly and helpful, and like I said it seemed very well maintained and clean. So I would have to assume the cleanliness pertains to the actual hotel rooms as well (though I have no actual proof).
Safe travels...
Read moreI'm an elite member and have being using Springhill Suites as my primary hotel for years. I had my worst experience with Spring Hill Suites in Romulus Michigan June 10, 2019. I called June 9 and told them i was arriving June 10th 6am from a red eye flight. I asked would it be possible to check in early. The receptionist who i won't give her name told me yes. Just book the room and you can check in we have availability. I gave her my card info, she charged $109 and booked the room. I arrived at 6am and was given key to my room. I showered took a nap woke up around 11am and went to go get my 3 year old grandson who i had come to visit and bring back to have a swim in the indoor pool. When i get back to the room with my grandson i saw my room door open. I went to front desk and was told i was checked out. I told the lady i had just checked in at 6am. She said no you checked in yesterday. I explained that i couldn't have checked in yesterday i was in Arizona and my flight didnt leave until last night 11pm June 9 and I arrived in Detroit 5am this morning june 10.. She got the manager who was very rude and very inconsiderate. I'm standing there with my 3 yr old grandson and she politely told me there was nothing she could do and that a mistake was made but i had to leave. I was furious but remained calm. So i'm charged $109 for a 6hr stay I asked? She went and got a paper which stated i had checked in Sunday June 9,2019 at 8:20P . I showed her my itinerary showing i didnt leave Arizona until 11PM Sunday June9,2019 how could i been checked in. The unethical procedures that was displayed are unacceptable. The unconcern of trying to make sure the customer was taken care of was neglected. I have not been reimburse for their untruthfulness nor have i received an apology. I've waited 2weeks for someone to call or email but as of the time of this review have not received anything. I felt humiliated and hurt that this manager of such reputable company fell to present herself and Spring Hill by Marriott in a more professional manner. I also felt let down that my 3 yr old grandson didnt get the opportunity to enjoy a day in the pool with his grandfather who had come from Arizona to Michigan. And No i didnt get my...
Read moreThe worst experience I ever had, the room was booked to a previous guest, when we came to check in at 12am after a long drive from ny state we were giving first the wrong key, we were told room 232, when we arrived to that room, the key wouldn't work, I went downstairs to talk to the front desk and by checking the last name I was told its room 407,he never apologized about hos previous mistake by giving us the wrong info when we arrived to that room, we found ot it's been used, the bed was already messy like someone slept on it the bath towels was used and thrown on one of the beds, therevwere hair all over the room, no lock on the bathroom door. We mentioned all the issues to the front desk, we were told they overbooked and they cant do nothing for us, they could cancel our reservation which we did 5 days ago, and we have a confirmation number to prove it. The worker was careless, and when we asked him just put us in the first room he assigned us for which 242 he told us its dirty as well. We asked so why would u assign us a room that's its dirty already he said I cant answer that and I dont have any comment. Finally we asked him to clean room 407 for us he refused and made us clean it, changed the sheets and gave us some towels instead the ones were used. We didnt have any other choice but to do that, it was friday night and all the hotels were booked already besides we were tired after travelling over 8 hours. Unfriendly, unsupportive, useless staff. And bad management for allowing overbook rooms, and allowing rooms to be rented to 2 different parties in the same day, without paying any attention to the cleanness of their facilities specially around covid 19 time. That was a savage, unethical behavior from the staff and from the management for allowing something like this to accrue at...
