This rating is well deserved considering my most recent visit, and two previous visits, one for lunch with a friend and one for dinner celebrating my daughters birthday! Upon our arrival, the hostess said nothing.... I asked for a table for two and she walked away. We supposed we should follow, which we did and she led us to the table. As soon as we were seated the waiter arrived to take our drink order, that was okay. I don't know who he was as he did not introduce himself. He didn't have a name tag either, that I can recall. I ordered a margarita and water with lemon. My husband ordered a beer, no lime just salt. The lemon for my water never came, my husband's beer came with lime. The margarita was delicious, probably the best thing about this dining experience. Now on to the food. As an appetizer we ordered the texas cheese fries. A delicious dish when made right. In this case these were just okay due to the jalapeños not being baked within the dish. These were just placed on top after the dish baked and some had a suspicious texture...? My husband ordered the ribeye steak and a side of shrimp. When the steak arrived it was undercooked and way smaller in size that we can recall from other times. More than half of the plate was covered with "loaded mashed potatoes." Ay si ay si, a little bacon bits and parsley sprinkled on top of mashed potatoes. The shrimp arrived much later, piping hot. Obviously the waiter had forgotten to put in the order Steak sauce was requested from our waiter but I saw him attending new tables instead so I asked another employee walking by who gladly brought it right away so my husband could actually use it at the right time. I ordered a dish that came obligatory with chicken crispers, then I chose ribs, and jalapenos sausage. The menu depicted fries, corn, some sort of toast with this dish. The corn did not come on my plate. Jalapeño sausage was good. Ribs were overcooked and subpar in flavor. Doesn't chilis pride themselves on thier ribs? Chicken crispers were fresh but nothing too spectacular. The amount of barbecue sauce served was so tiny it was comical but that was okay because it wasn't to my liking anyway. Fries were fresh but I had already eaten all the texas cheese fries! I ordered this because I was wanted to be sure my food was fresh, hot, and I thought the variety was nice but I should have gone with a burger instead. When the time to pay came we were unable to use the tablet at the table. The waiter had put the receipt on the table and immediately was wet due to water on the table. I really disliked that this establishment didn't provide the little booklets where the receipt comes in and you put your card inside for privacy reasons. The waiter ended up taking the card to ring up elsewhere as he couldn't get the payment processed on the tablet either. The waiter checked on our table a total of 1 time only after serving our appetizer. After that, he was rare to come by. Nonetheless, he was still tipped well. Also, the prices seem way higher than the last time I came, for the food quality and service here, its questionable... Cleanliness is seriously lacking, tables were sticky, floor was sticky, trash leftover on the floor, slow picking up of the tables, you get the point. I didn't visit the restroom this time but I can take a guess of the condition. In conclusion, don't waste your time or money coming to chilis. Sub par service and less than desirable dishes seem to be the norm here time and time again for years. As I previously stated above this hasn't been our only experience like this. For those easily impressed or angered you're sure to have a bad time. Check out Gringos or even Roadhouse instead! I had a great experience at Gringos for lunch the very...
Read moreWell after a visit last night after having not been in after 6 months I came out of this place with my wife completely disappointed and dissatisfied. Let start off with the good of the evening, which was the first round of alcoholic drinks that included a Patron Blackberry Rita and a Deep Eddy Strawberry Lemon, which were made very well and what we thought would set the evening up to continue. So to say we greatly disappointed that the 2nd round came out which was a strawberry margarita and another Deep eddy, which turned out that the deep eddy tasted like more strawberry concentrate that was extremely sweet and the strawberry margarita had so much margarita concentrate in it that it was completely acidic tasting even when melted. Finally figured out what the wife would not drink it. Food-We had buffalo crispers and a bacon avacado chicken sandwich. This to say and keep it short was a complete disappointment as the bacon sandwich was not as ordered and was completely tasteless. Appetizers were decent which was Queso and salsa. The summation of all this food was that in my opinion they were using old grease to fry everything in these food items as our stomachs were not in the best of shape when we left and through the night. Service-This was to say pathetic as I had to keep repeating myself to the server and finally had to have conversation with him last night in the bar area that either to shape up or ship out. He did not listen when we spoke and after having to repeat myself several times, this exercise started to irritate me. Service did get a bit better but came with an attitude to some degree, which I overlooked. It was rather funny to be told our drinks were held up by the bartender then he would head back to the order station to actually put them in. I would also watch him walk toward us then make eye contact, then scurry back to the order station to input what we had asked for some time before. As a traveler of 25 years all other this country to many states and countless cities, I will have to say this experience ranks up there in the worst and having spent 73.00 excluding a tip that I will remember this place for a lifetime. Really needs some work to get personnel up to par and food above the level it is presently at after my last visit to...
Read moreI parked curbside to pick up my order. All of a sudden I hear something hitting my passenger rear view mirror. I look up and someone is just staring at me. I roll down my window half way and the person then asks me my name. I gave her my name and she said “Here.” The employee was trying to hurriedly throw my food in the vehicle. I had 3 drinks included in my order, with no cup holder. I ask the employee for a cup holder and with a nasty attitude she says, “We don’t have anymore.” I ask her, well how do I have 3 drinks but with no cup holder? Very nastily w she replied, “Well, what do you want me to tell you.” At that point I asked for her name which she said was Abby, and a manager. After the employee stomped off back into the restaurant, I get out of my vehicle to go speak with the manager. The manager was not apologetic at all. She made excuses for the employees behavior saying that she is just a child. The manager then accuses me of being disrespectful. I asked her how I was being disrespectful, she said because I was talking about her employers nasty attitude in front of her. The manager then tells me to leave and that’s she going to call the corporate office on me. I asked her for a refund and she said, Well, where’s the food? I told her I will get the food back to her. I went to the car, grabbed the food and delivered it back to the restaurant. By the time I get back in, the GM, Ty, was at the counter, with an attitude. Ty didn’t greet me, introduce himself, ask me what the problem was or how he could resolve it. He said , “You want refund?” I told him “Yes.” Then he said it will be refunded in 24-48 hours. I asked for a receipt stating my card was refunded and he refused to give me one. He repeated over and over there’s nothing he could give me. I asked for the receipt of my order and left. My entire experience was dreadful, disrespectful and unprofessional. I will never come back to...
