I don't usually write these things but I think my words are better written here rather than kept in my head. Sadly there is no zero star option as that would be what I believe suits this restaurant best. I would like to start off by saying the staff employed at this restaurant provide some of if not the best service I have ever received. The food was always nice, hot and above all else tasted delicious. The staff is not whom I take issue with but instead management, in particular the owner. I have been unfortunately privy to the fact that over the past couple years the owner has terminated several employees days or hours before shifts. I have heard rumors of more but they are just rumors thus I think they are barely worth mentioning. These employees were given no recourse or reason for termination and thus were pushed out the door. Routinely applicants (mostly immigrants who are unaware of the protections given to them by California law) are hired in and within a few weeks or months are terminated with no explanation. Considering most of these employees are unaware of unlawful termination protections granted to them they are ripe for being abused by those looking to exploit them; the owner is one such. Under normal circumstances I would not recommend boycotting a restaurant because it hurts the employees just as much as it does the owner. With that said I think this is a bit of a different situation. As you read this every employee at My Thai Kitchen is ready to be axed at the owners whim. Right now there are three groups of people involved, the victims of employer abuse, the potential victims of future employer abuse, and the owner. I hope with the recent terminations every employee is currently looking for other employment that has less volatility and abuse by a morally corrupt owner. Finally as a message to the patrons of this restaurant I won't necessarily ask you to take your business elsewhere, instead I will caution you that you are subsidizing an abusive environment with every bite you take. Keep this in mind the next time you show up to eat at My Thai Kitchen and your favorite server is "away...
Read moreIndian chefs for a thai restaurant is interesting. . Lamb chops with sweet tamarind sauce was a great touch for the meat pairing. The Lamb chops was a little well done wish it was medium rare. . I had the tom yum catfish, the soup was on the sour side. The cat fish was filet and no bones. The cat fish was fishy tho and made the soup very fishy. . Steak salad, wish the steak was cooked warm, then cut it and tossed in the salad. The steak look like it was served cold because the fat was clogged and didn't look like it was juicy and hot. There isn't enough flavor to the sauce and seasoning. . Seafood medley salad - the salad was a lacking in seasoning and lime juice. Ingredients was great with lots of tomatoes and celery and etc. . Avocado curry with tofu was good. The curry was flavorful. Lots of veggies inside and paired so we'll with all the rice. Some more avocado pieces would be great. . Mango red curry duck - nice flavor curry and lots of veggies and duck. Just some more mango pieces would be great. . Rice I love how they have black sticky rice, blue rice, brown rice, jasmine rice, and regular sticky rice. Great for a rice connoisseur. . Fried branzino a European bass served on a platter with rice noodles, herbs, and a herbal sauce too. It was a nice presentation. Flavor wise was just ok needed something more savory or sour spicy sauce on the side to dip. The fish wasn't fried crispy enough. . Pad kee mao a chow fun noodle with chicken was over wok stir fry so some burnt chicken pieces inside. The flavor was great, savory sweet. . Mango sticky rice dessert- warm and sweet and was so good. Presented in a heart shape. . Overall service was great. The parking was easy but busy. Location is in stone point Plaza. The food presentation was great. Just some minor adjustments to fix would be great. A good thai spot in Roseville to try as they are cozy inside with lots of seating. Thanks for reading and have a...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE A GLUTEN ALLERGY!!!!!!!!! This place should not be advertising as a gluten friendly restaurant, I spent a lot of time asking my server questions and expressed what my limitations are........ They assured me that the items were in fact gluten free and that they are considerate of cross contamination. When I first received my order I doubled checked my order, I asked what kind of noodles they used and they answered " wheat"....... even after expressing that I have an allergy they still didnt even know that wheat IS gluten....... they offered to re make my order which I accepted..... I honestly should have just cancelled it all together but I was so hungry I thought I would give it a shot. when I went home and took 2 bites my throat started to close up. I called back to ask what they put in my food only to find it STILL contained gluten. I totally understand that not every place is trained on how to handle food for people with allergies, because of that I usually avoid eating out all together for this reason. But since it was advertised as a " Gluten friendly " I figured there was at least some type of awareness of what I could safely eat....... I work in service myself and am always very kind and patient towards other service workers. I try to be as easy as possible to work with......but in this instance I wish they would have just told me they can't gaurentee my food will be safe to eat instead of ensuring that everything was all good. Honestly what scared me the most was the lack of knowledge and training from the employees when this place is advertised as a gluten friendly restaurant. I pray that the owners just take that option off google all together so they dont land someone in the hospital in the future...... because this wasnt just an instance of cross contamination with gluten they actually straight up gave me gluten TWICE. So CELIACS BEWARE ! This place is not...
