Might have had one of the worst dining experiences here. After trying to go to Monte Cello's, and finding out they had lost power, we headed down to Sieb's. When we get in, we're told it's a 30 minute wait because there are several large parties. That's fine. One of our party asks the hostess if a table opens up in the bar, can we sit there? Which the woman tells us we can. Fast forward to us claiming a table in the bar. It takes a while to get menus, but we just figure they're busy. Well, fifteen minutes later, our waitress has not come back to take our orders. Another one of our party tries asking another employee, and the employee tells us we're going to have to wait because there are tables who got here before us. We're confused, but continue to wait. Our party then asks the bartender if we move over to the bar, can we order there? And the bartender is visibly appalled that our order hasn't been taken. He asks the employee we had talked to previously, who then gets really snippy, and tells us we're going to need to wait. Our orders finally get taken, and then no one comes back to check on us, get refills, etc. Finally, after waiting half an hour for our food, two members of our party decide to speak with the manager. It gets extremely, extremely heated, and we're thrown out of the restaurant, and threatened to call the cops on us. After the fact, I finally put it together that we had accidentally jumped the line in taking the table at the bar, and most likely the reason we kept being told we needed to wait was because the manager was punishing us for getting in front of some other tables. I understand if we did something wrong, but then why were we told we could take a table in the bar? Maybe there was a misunderstanding about how the bar seating worked, and for that, we're in the wrong. However, something should have been said to us instead of passive aggressively punishing us. Furthermore, the "manager" of the restaurant handled the situation extremely poorly. I'm not condoning the behavior of people in our party, far from it. However, as a manager, especially one of supposedly 30+ years (her words), you don't stoop to that level, and you certainly don't stick your finger in...
Read moreCool pub vibe, super friendly staff. They have a backish room with around 10 tables and a large bar with another several tables around it. Cool shadowbox tables too and when we came it was decorated for the holidays which was neat. Just has a really cool feel. But how about that food, eh?
Caramel Moscow mule was good, subtle caramel added into a classic drink served in a decently sized copper mug. Lots of cool cocktails to try on the menu.
Pub fries were great!!! Excellent crunch but layered with cheese and bacon. Perfect blend of flavors, it's like the ultimate for the table appetizer.
You get a choice of a soup or salad and then a side for the pot pie which we couldn't resist. Relatively reasonably priced for some good portion sizes.
Broccoli cheddar soup was ok. I'm not the biggest fan normally but this was a little watery than I was expecting, not quite the creamy I wanted. But it was still enjoyable, certainly not a deal breaker. It was better with the crackers for sure.
Chicken pot pie was excellent. Amazing crust, just perfectly flaky but still firm. The stew inside is just so creamy and packed full of vegetables and chicken. Got a side of onion rings with it and they were really good. Super crispy with a great flavoring to the batter.
My brother got the Irish coffee which he loved and the Irish pot roast sandwich which had some excellently seasoned and cooked meat. Total melt in your mouth situation there.
Dessert sounded really good but we ultimately didn't indulge because we were too full. About 60 for 3 of us: 2 drinks (8/each) with restaurant pricing for the food (2 entrees plus an app).
Definitely worth the visit though. Food and staff were great and that's what I'm always...
Read moreA typical American bar serving the usual bar grubs: nachos, wings, burgers, other fried stuff. There’s four foods labeled Irish, BUT NO, the quality is NOT quite Irish🫤🫤🫤.
It’s largely a drinking establishment, very quiet on the weekdays, busy on Friday and Saturday. It has early closing hours, which doesn’t quite go with a “pub” idea they like to project…
There’s however some selection of common commercial Irish brands of beer…. —- But for the beer connoisseur desiring fresh traditional brews, go elsewhere.
The food is mostly fast foods, commonly found elsewhere: burgers, wings, nachos, fries.
There’s a list of 4 food items labeled Irish.
The “fish and chips” is nothing more than greasy, tasteless, thick battered fish. It supposed to have a beer batter, but there’s not a whiff of beer. 👎👎👎. The batter is partially raw🤮🤮🤮.
The French fries are just as tasteless. Most are nearly burnt.
Real chips (Irish/Brit) are rough thick cuts of potatoes, mix of wedges and long cuts.
Perhaps a redemption of the eatery is the “Guinness” Beef Pot Pie: flavorful 😎 bowl of beef stew topped with crispy pastry. —- it stew however needs to be much thicker!
