Read moreALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Been shopping at Oriental Market McKnight for so many years even on there original location. The new store is way bigger, cleaner and more organized than before. It can be a little more expensive compared to other Oriental Stores in the Strip District but it’s closer to me by location and I know where to find the stuff that I always need. I just want everyone to CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS before going back to your cars and make sure you’re not double charged on some of your items, mostly those multiple products of the same brand. Not just once that happened to me but several times already… I used to check receipts at home and just let it go for sometimes. But when it happened multiple times already, I gotta do something to prevent it from happening again. It can be a headache but I don’t wanna be charged on items that I am not taking home! So I made it a habit to check my receipt especially when you’re shopping for a lot of items everytime I go there.
Uodate and separate incident just last weekend 9/8/2924 with receipts and shelf pricing photos as evidence: Was at the store. I told the cashier to tell their manager that I am not asking a refund of the deference but to fix their shelf pricing coz it’s not the same as in the receipt price for the soy sauce the I got. She just looked at me and mumbled with...
Read moreIf you looking for genuine Asian ingredients for your recipes I highly recommend this place. They have a rotating stock of what's in stock and they usually have some staple items that they always carry like tofu, soy sauce, mirin. Staff does speak English, and are very friendly. I have not used their fish section and back, but from what I can tell it fresh cut the fish there to the way you need or want You just have to ask them. Their freezer section spans the side of the store it's got a varied array of goods in it. They do have a small but reasonable purty section again most of the selection is a for Asian cuisine. The biggest problem I've had was most of the signage is in Chinese I believe. A while back I was getting awkward stares as I look mostly white european and and most of the shoppers at the time were of Asian descent and spoke either Chinese or another Asian language. No one was particularly rude just an awkward situation. Nowadays the staff is used to seeing European descent people coming in the store they will try to help you with questions if they can the don't all speak fluent English the younger staff usually does. If you looking for authentic Asian gradients for Asian recipes you find online this is a good place to go if you live in the area of Ross park I would recommend...
