There are many - MANY - places like this that make good drinks or have good food; very seldom do they have both. This location is not any exception, and even then, we would have to return to be sure. Located on Old Alabama, just off Holcomb Bridge, Cafe Amico offers a variety of visually appealing meals, with a satisfying menu of drinks that are popular right now, and just enough space to get your food and go, unless you slip in early on a Sunday morning or throughout the work week. The drinks are chill and tasty, fulfilling my expectations, and providing a refreshing experience that I honestly was not expecting. After an unnecessarily long wait for our food, we lived into average tasting ice cream that came along with our French toast that was not bad tasting, but only tasted like brioche. As much I enjoy brioche, I wanted to taste French toast, and that was not what I was tasting. Along with the disappointing flavor after quite a wait, we got pretty small portions, which I would not be offended by if it weren't for the price. Top that with overpriced unseasoned shrimp that I could have made on the grill, we're left with a mediocre meal meant to spark conversation about how disappointing it was, but that we will likely return for the drinks...to...
Read moreLittle things that pile up. When I arrived, the table that had the power plug was full of dirty plates and whatnot. I myself moved them to the next table, where they sat for a considerable amount of time. I then ordered my Eggs Benedict (the eggs were cooked to perfection, but unfortunately sat on a cold bed of salad on top of the muffin: cold egg and soggy bread...). Unremarkable if I’m being honest. Then the issue with the dirty dish again. The server was kind enough to bring me my second coffee while I was in the restroom. Of course, she didn't take my plate away. I moved it to the next table. It's still sitting there. Maybe this is all growing pains, but training must probably be the one to blame here, since there were only another 3 tables with people. The location is nice; they made an effort to make the place look and feel good, which it does. It's just the service and the mediocre Eggs Benedict that unfortunately fails from the moment it was conceived. The hollandaise sauce was good. By the way, I am NOT recommending the Eggs Benedict. The survey asked me what I ate and that's just what I ate, not what I recommend. The coffee. I...
Read moreIt's an excellent place, the service is super, the food and dessert is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy. I love that they have decaf coffee ❤️ and I wish it was water-processed. I'd like them to add sourdough bread for those of us with celiac disease, since eating out options are very limited for us. I'd also like to try one or two desserts with gluten-free ingredients and some type of sweetener like stevia, monk fruit, or allulose, which would be ideal and great for diabetics, celiacs, and those of us who want a better balance in our diet. This would be something interesting to innovate and try. In general, it's a very clean and well-staffed place where they take care of every detail, and we, the customers, notice it. ❤️👏🏻👏🏻 for more places like these, you can see the humility, the love and the gift of service and values of each of the people who serve in this place, like our Lord Jesus Christ who is a servant rather than a servant but does it with all the love, respect and humility 🙏 congratulations you are...
