I love Chilis, traveling a lot this always seems to be the safe bet. However, the experience my husband and I had in Roswell, NM was far from a safe bet. Not only did it take forever for the bartender to acknowledge us, even though she was all but a few feet from us the entire time. But even in doing so she didn't seem to be people friendly what so ever. After ordering a couple of beers, that mind you took forever to come out, she finally asked if we'd want anything so we ordered an appetizer. That took longer than a meal itself. When that came out, my husband asked the waitress if we could have utensils, instead of grabbing us utensils she went into the back in the clearest sight of view to gossip and mingle with the coworkers all standing around the kitchen area. Waiting awhile I finally got up and got the utensils from the other end of the bar that no one was at. Again, when trying to order another round and some food that took another ridiculously long period of time for the bartender to even just address us. And when we finally were ordering she stood on the other side of the bar having us basically try yelling our order out at her while she typed it into the kiosk with her back to us. Our food again, took forever in a day to come out and it was disappointing, cold, overcooked, and felt like it had been sitting on the counter for quite sometime. My husband and I were both just done with this whole experience and asked for our ticket to go. Again, the bartender stood at the other end of the bar yelling out our total and asking for a card rather than presenting us a ticket to pay out that way. I couldn't be more disappointed and even more so that we spent so much money on food and drinks that we didn't exactly get the opportunity to enjoy. Highly...
Read moreWe went in on Friday night 11/22, we were seated quickly especially due to they were busy but ordering anything was very different. The server was very interested in the table around the corner as she walked by us several times with no acknowledgement. We ordered drinks and tried to order an appetizer but she took off to quickly. When she brought drinks I stopped her before running again only to be told sorry all the fryers are down. HALF THE MENU NEEDS FRIED. We also asked for a glass of water. We did over hear another server say they could do fries. Finally caught our server on her run by again to order food. We got food order and I asked about the water with "oh I forgot" she then took care of a few tables then brought the water. I myself ordered the Smokehouse pick 2. The smoked brisket came out soooooo dry it was like jerky and was completely cold. She did offer to heat it up for me ,I declined as it was already tough and microwaved would be even worse. I spoke with her about the meal and was given the " I am sorry" and she was gone again. The only time she stuck around was when it came time for the check. I tried to stop the manager on shift and was ignored. I swear I am going to have to learn to make the Southwestern Eggrolls myself and save myself the irritation of the lousy service...
Read moreMy partner and I dined here for lunch today after a doctor appointment in town. We had never been to this Chili's restaurant, and I had a not-so-great experience at a Chili's in another state.
The restaurant was very clean; our server, George, was gracious and attentive,, and the food was wonderful.
My partner had the bacon avocado chicken sandwich, which she said was terrific. It came with fries, which she also thought were great.
I ordered the grilled chicken with mango salsa, which I have never had before, which came with Spanish-style rice and steamed broccoli (on the low calorie menu) and it certainly didn't taste like it was only just over 640 calories. It was very delicious.
I ordered a margarita with lunch, a small one as I had to drive. The small one was plenty. They serve the margarita in what looks like a martini glass with salt around the rim, and Ice, not blended. I have found that I prefer them this way. It was made with just enough tequila, and served with a shaker so that filled two of the glasses.
Our lunches, not including drinks, came up to about $22.00 which really isn't bad compared to other restaurants I have dined at in Roswell.
I would definitely recommend Chili's if you're in Roswell for lunch. I will be dining there the next time...
