Have eaten food from here 3 times and it was fab! Atmosphere - LOVE the purple color scheme - even love the purple to-go bags! They make me smile!!! I don't remember if they have purple straws but that would be cool! Might be cost prohibitive but I love Culvers blue straws and CFA uses red...both to match their logos. Food - Anyway - love their tea - not everyone makes great tea...some places scorch the tea leaves by using boiling water right away...which makes the tea bitter. This is perfect so they obviously don't do that. Have eaten the chicken on the bone, the 6 piece crispy wing meal, and a chicken biscuit this morning. Let me say that I will probably not go to CFA anymore for breakfast. We quit ordering CFA's chix biscuits because they don't cook the filets enough and they have a 'yongy' texture - gross! (but they do cook their sandwich filets enough which is odd) and you can't order them well done anymore either - holds up the drive through they say. :((( No worries - my chicken biscuit this morning from CC's was fab! Biscuit didn't fall apart, huge piece of chicken in there that was fully cooked, and perfectly crisp coating, not too thick. When I ate in for my 6 piece wing meal, it actually wasn't on the board and I was ordering everything separately and the cashier said they had one and he re-rang and it save me $1 which was nice of him. I do admit that I think the meal was pricey - it was $19 and change for 6 chicken wings (normal size, not huge, not small - actually they were perfect size), collards, corn bread and tea. I know they don't have the purchasing power of a chain, but this is pricey...but hey, what isn't nowadays! :( The greens were awesome and the cornbread was good. Typing this review makes me want to go back for lunch! :))) And the 2 piece meal is cheaper so I will probably order that...it seems since COVID that wings are astronomically expensive!
ADDING ONE NOTE: Have gotten a few more chicken biscuits in the morning and they are super good - the only thing is that the chicken is way bigger than the biscuits. The biscuits kind of look like kid-sized biscuits. It's great that the chicken is so big, I just don't like the ratio of the chicken to be 2-1 for the biscuit...kind of like you wouldn't want your burger to be hanging off all the sides of the bun. I understand that they will go over the edges a little, but I would make the biscuits a little...
Read moreI'll be fair with this review, if they want to give me a free meal I'll re-do this review.
I went there today to get a po-boy tender sandwich. Wasn't bad, portion size is massive, as one would expect for 16 bucks (Meal - side + drink) I think it's 9 or 10 bucks without the side.
A few things; it took about 6-7 minutes in the drive through to get the sandwich which is pretty long if you're going to have a drive thru. I was the only car in the line (maybe its cook to order?)
The fries are actually pretty decent, needs a bit of seasoning in my opinion, but the crispiness is there. The sandwich was a solid 3/10 though. It looks like they just tossed fried onions on it and called it a day. Maybe I missed it on the menu options, but it also came with tomatoes (I could of missed this) which I would of had them remove if I had known.
The bread has basically no flavor or love put into it. It's just bland AF. Like they got it from Kroger and slapped ingredients on it. Honestly if you're cool with that then the rest of the sandwich (i.e chicken/cheese) wasn't half bad. There's not much to it though, pretty basic sandwich. Doesn't really pop, though maybe I got one of the bad things on the menu. I don't think i'll be going back, because it's kinda pricey just to test the rest...
Read moreHere goes. Stopped by 06.27.24 to check this location out. Why. ? I visited another location and the food and service was outstanding. It felt like my gma cooked that food. Roswell location not that impressed. Why?? I ordered a 4 piece lemon pepper meal with greens and paid for the extra side of yams. Those wings were toddler size, Zaxbys wingettes seemed bigger. The seasoning was ok. The yams hmmmm, how do you mess those up, by adding no sweetness at all. Tasted bland. BUT those collard greens were 💯 yummy to my tummy. I'd order a pot for the family of course 😉. My sweet tea/lemonade was pretty good no complaints. Overall I gave this new location THREE STARS!! Your in Roswell and we have plenty of food spots and the Soul Food spot is literally 2-3 lights down and their food is soooo good. I will go back definitely to try the wedge salad, ribs and may be the veggie plate too but the wings 50/50. Get bigger wings it's sad eating baby whole wings. Their are a lot of chicken places in this area with way better wingettes than your whole pieces, got to step it up. JS
Only posted the collards as they were worthy...
