This is one of my new favorite spots for sushi in Roswell. I have been twice and both times the experience was perfect for a night out. It's truly a hidden little gem.
One of the things I like best is that the chefs are creative and want you to enjoy your experience. I had a high maintenance request of slightly changing one of the sushi rolls. The tuna on the inside is seared, which I wasn't as big of a fan of due to the texture, which I experienced on my first visit, but I loved the roll overall. I asked if it could be made without searing the fish. He did me one better. He altered the roll for me while keeping the ingredients I liked best, and it was fabulous. He is truly a master with flavors and trying to engage sushi lovers. The freshness and quality were perfect.
On both occasions I had 2 different servers. The first time I sat at one of the tables and the other at the bar. The entire staff is so nice, professional, friendly, and accommodating. They truly make it a pleasant experience, which can be so rare these days.
The menu is unique too. Don't shy away if you're not a sushi fan because they have so many things to try. I'm a traditionalist and love my ginger salad and a sushi roll, although I'll shake up which ones I get. My first visit my friend got a poke bowl and my friend last night got the beef ramen. Everything was just yummy. It will make me branch out a bit on future visits just to try other things on the menu.
The next time you're hankering for an Asian meal, please make a visit here. Selfishly, I want to be sure they become a staple in our...
Read moreWOW … there’s a new(ish) excellent option for Sushi in Roswell/Alpharetta.
Looks like nothing from the outside(needs some attractive lighting above the door). In fact, other than the tacky neon sign, it looks like a hidden bar from prohibition times.
But, once inside it’s very nice, with, as others have mentioned, very comfortable seating.
Let’s get the only negative out of the way …. service is a little bit hit ‘n miss. Slow to take order and informing a dish was 86’d when food was being delivered. These are easy issues to resolve.
What doesn’t need any improvement is the quality of ingredient, presentation and reasonable prices for this quality of food.
Special recommendation for the Out of Control roll … just superb. And, the house marinated Saba (mackerel) is a show stopper !
I’m now trying to arrange business meetings so I have an excuse to get back for a lunch.
My wife is not a fan of raw fish, so she had the chicken ramen noodle soup, and said the broth was better(and cheaper with more protein) than that offered by the popular ramen restaurant in downtown alpharetta.
The restaurant got busier and busier while we ate, so think the word may be out about how good...
Read moreWe really wanted to love this new spot, but our visit fell short in several areas. Granted, any sushi restaurant in the old Vuu location has big shoes to fill. The restaurant is nice and vibey, and we liked the look and feel. Service was not good at all and the food took a VERY long time. We each had a glass of wine and our glasses were empty for half of our visit and we were never asked if we wanted another; missed opportunity to sell more. We had the gyoza (which was very greasy) and two specialty rolls that were okay, but not great. We noticed the table next to us also having service issues--waving to the server to order something additional, and one of them had to ask the sushi chef about getting their checks. I think they need more time to get their footing and the servers definitely need...
