I have to share what a reprehensible experience I had at this Mellow Mushroom today. I came with my family of 5 to support our Montessori school, as we had a planned fundraiser there this evening. I unknowingly went to the table outside that I believed was our reserved table, only to find out it was not. We then put out name on the list for service, around 6:30. Even though we were only 10 minutes later than another family we know (who was sat immediately) we were not given a table for another 70 minutes- even though countless people were sat and fed around us during this time. After finally getting a table, we ordered an appetizer and 2 pizzas. At 8:10, I went to speak with the manager to inquire what was going on, since we had been waiting for so long. I was mildly upset up this point- but mostly because at least 50+ people had been set and fed since our family arrived. The manager was extremely rude. He complained that the school had not called to make them aware of the fundraiser until that morning (I find this doubtful, since it has been planned for over a month) and that "we werent the only people screwed over in the process". He said we "hadn't been waiting for pizza for an hour and 40 minutes, only been there an hour and 40 minutes" (but we had been waiting for both a table and pizza that entire time). He did not apologize and did not offer to assist or make up for this in any way. The entire dining room had emptied out by the time we finally got our food. We were charged $65 and never had a word of apology or offer to make things right at all. Our server was very kind and did her best to be accommodating. She also seemed surprised that he did not care at all about our experience and left her to deal with it. Apparently this gentleman is known for being cross with customers. I was absolutely floored that he acted in this way, to a paying customer, when his establishment was clearly negligent with our service. If you are considering holding a larger event or fundraiser at this establishment, I would strongly recommend against it. All of the families I spoke with were disappointed about the experience, the wait, and the lack of communication. It doesnt appear that the manager understands that fundraisers make MORE money for the business- or he would not have complained so openly about ours. I don't complain about service often, but this really stood out as a missed opportunity to make things right. If this is an indication of their standard service, I would highly recommend against...
Read moreLet's say this...we have not been to Mellow Mushroom in a long time and we were so excited to go there today as a family. Our waitress, Katie, came up and took our order right away. We ordered some cheese bread, 2 pizzas and a calzone. We waited for a long time for the cheese bread starter. We waited about 20 minutes. We couldn't find our waitress so we asked the hostess to find out about the bread. She came back stating they just started it. Eventually, our waitress came back and apologized and said she took it off our bill. Ok... great, thank you. Our food came out and it was really good... she did not bring us our food, it was someone else. We ate our lunch but did not see our waitress again except to see her walking around the restaurant on her phone and hanging out in the rest room. We were not checked on for refills or anything else we might have needed. Let me add...it was very slow. We approached the cash register to ask for 2 boxes and our bill. Katie finally appeared, still on her phone...and went to get the boxes and the check...never hanging the phone up. When she finally brought them to me, she was still on the phone and "sorry, I'm trying to find my w2's". I looked at the check, it still had the cheese bread charged on it. I walked up to the counter and asked them to remove it. The other employee had to go find Katie and told me that it was voided even though it still showed on my bill. At that point I didn't care. No one in that restaurant tried to make this right... no service from her...her coworkers did more for us than she did...needless to say, customer no service with me, will affect your tip with me. Sorry not sorry. I am always ALWAYS leaving generous tips because I know how hard restaurant employees work. Not this one. So, as my family and I were leaving, Katie made sure to stand outside and attempt to admonish me in public. The sad thing about it is, Mellow Mushroom and other customers have to continue to deal with this type of behavior. I...
Read moreWorst experience ever tonight. MM is one of my favorite places for our family of seven, but this was the worst! This was a date night with my wife and our two little ones. Right off, The manager got irritated at us for asking politely to switch tables from the tiny one in the far corner. We ordered one pizza and one salad. We got the salad then waited an HOUR before finally getting up to leave with no food or apology. The restaurant was not full. I asked to pay for the salad and said how long we waited. The manager, Ryan or Ree-an?? did not apologize but said they were doing their best to bring everyone food. I said âno one checked on us or apologized or offered any bread knots or anything at all.â His only response was that âthose would have taken time to cookâ he wouldnât look at me. I could not believe that he wonât even apologize for making us wait an hour at our table with two little kids. I went to take a pic of the guy then stopped and went to leave. He chased after me yelling that I donât have a right to take any picture and I need to delete that! I said do you want to see my phone? He said Yes! So I showed him that I didnât even take it. Iâm blown away at the pompous arrogance. Every restaurant can make a mistake. But when you respond rudely and chase me down instead of contritely apologizing, itâs incredible. We wonât be back to this one . Itâs on hwy 92 in Roswell. Save yourself...
