I met the delivery guy for Theo's one day in Roswell and he was a really nice guy. I'm fairly observant, but maybe not very observant, because I'd driven past the store innumerable times before he gave me a heads-up and I looked for it. I've been back several times since then.
This right here--and Alpine, although it's a different genre of bakery--is the type of place that you visit when you want to surprise the lady that you love with something special. Or man that you love. Whichever applies. As I said, Theo's has a different variety of goods than Alpine...not as many sweets, although Theo's has some of that, too.
I've bought pastries, I've bought buns. I've taken sammitches home to my awesome girlfriend and she loved the selection. I've posted several pictures, and if you look at that Italian, you might think that it's lean on meat. That's what I though when I cracked it open. But the meat, cheese, condiments, and arugula (I swear, I never thought that I'd admit eating that plant in public) are in the proper proportions. The sandwiches are delicious.
Get one of the brown butter tarts or whatever they're called. I've had bites (because I got them for my lady, not me) of the pear and strawberry varieties and they are sublime. The scones are damned fine, too. You probably can't go wrong with any selection at Theo's, unless you're just a cranky curmudgeon. I'm generally that way, but Theo's makes me happy. Give it a visit and see...

Today's visit was my last. The almond croissant was overcooked, half the size it used to be, and a weird texture and color. The beinget was burnt. The pizza was somehow burnt and undercooked all at once. The bread pudding was overcooked, dry, and no flavor.
If you want good croissants, try Phil's pastries at the farmers' mart or go to Douceur De France French in Roswell.
If you want something sweet, go to Amore Mio in cummings.
Everything looks and smells so good… Unfortunately, they had a wide selection to choose from, making it hard to decide what to try! The almond croissant I tried was absolutely fantastic! And the customer service was great. The lady who helped me this morning was great. She was very knowledgeable of the products and made great suggestions for an order I place for my daughter’s birthday brunch...
Read moreHaving purchased and loved bread from this bakery at the Alpharetta Farmer's Market, I picked up a sandwich menu and carried it around for almost a year. The menu of sandwiches looked appetizing and I was anxious to try one out for lunch. I finally had my chance.
When we arrived early afternoon, we found that the sandwiches were made in the morning and sat in a case all day. Additionally, once a particular sandwich was sold out, it was sold out for the day. So, we had limited sandwiches to choose from that had been prepared four or five hours earlier. A limited selection of bottled drinks were available as beverages. And to further disappoint, only two tables were available for eating your meal - both outside. It was overall a very disappointing experience.
I think Theo's Brother's Bakery is a great bakery and I would definitely purchase bread and baked goods there, but I will never return there for a...
