Disclaimer: this was my experience at the Five Guys location. It is not indicative of anyone else’s experience other than my own.
I started this job about a month ago, and I can say it’s one of the worst employment experiences I’ve ever had. It seemed like a great deal at first, as $15/ hr was being advertised. Not “up to 15”— a straight $15/hour offer. This quickly proved to be a trap after I received my first paycheck and noticed a much lower rate. When this place tells you they will give you an increase for finishing all of the training videos by a certain time, THEY ARE LYING. When I confronted them about this, they tried to say it was never discussed.
Aside from the pay, another issue at Five Guys is the disrespectful and, arguably, pathetic staffing. If you are a newbie, they will be sure to treat you like one! I’m talking bottom of the food chain, scum of the earth. They boast their 3-5 years of time with the company like it’s the greatest thing in the world. The cliques were obvious within the first week. The management is seriously lacking in skill, considering they were fine with keeping the store open even when the heat AND the AC went out. As unpredictable as Texas weather is, that’s a problem. One day I was freezing to death, the next I was literally melting from the heat to the point I felt like I was going to throw up.
Moral of the story, pick a different...
Read moreI went here with a group of guys from work who get together about once a month to visit a burger joint and discuss which what we like/dislike about the particular burger place. I know, it's a tough life, but somebody's got to do it.
So for 5 guys, the biggest complaint was the price. For a double meat with cheese, small fries and a drink it was just over $15.
The people working told us the burgers were 1/4 pound, however they didnt look like they were that big and we couldn't find anything in print that said they were that big. We did find some online writing that said they were smaller and that makes more sense. So basically for the price, this place was a HUGE disappointment.
Another thing I didnt like was that the jalapenos are fresh and not pickled. I ordered them not knowing (assuming pickled because that's how they usually are at burger joints) and ended up picking them off and throwing them away.
Fries were good and even with the small, there were plenty. But.....just remember that you will pay dearly for them.
I remember years ago going to 5 guys and being disappointed by the value to price and said I would never go back. Well, for the sake of research, we did go back, but I think I can safely say that now I will most likely not visit again. There are just too many other options that will charge much less and give...
Read moreThis store is so racist, I use to work there. They fired me for questioning them about my missing over time pay and my raise I was owed for performance. But waited amd conjured up lies to get me pushed out. Regardless of all my documented proof i had. The HR ignore everything toldbto her. All the white people there constantly get in trouble but never lose there job. Like the one employee who disrespected the military gentlemen, he is still there disrespecting people daily. But he is white so he get a pass. Now I just had to pick up my friend who work there. She got sent home by her manager after reporting another employee coming in and threatening her. When I came in to pick up my friend just now the manager who sent her home told me before I opened my mouth that she don't have time for it. Wow. Your employee get threatened and u don't have time for it? Only cause the person getting threatend was black. Five guys is white washed and good old boy. I'm in the process now with the state to have them inspected for my missing pay. They just fire you when you start asking to many questions about stuff. Horrible upper management to say the least. If you have your own brain you can't stay. The job is made to hire and produce robots. Not to hire and produce great strong...
