Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Round Rock

I drive from Cedar Park over there almost daily. Usually the service is very good to excellent. Today was quite different. I didn't know the girl working so I don't know if she's there on weekends or what. The man who was ordering in front of me bought 3 meals. After he paid for them, he thought he got drinks with them, but she told him only on the combos, which is correct. He tried to give her 3.00 for 3 drinks, but she just handed him 3 cups for free. He left the money in the tip jar. Then it was my turn. I ordered the $5 Reel Deal, sandwich, fries, drink, and 2 cinnamon puffs. When she tried to charge me 5.95, I told her that was wrong and that it should be 5.00 plus tax for 5.40 something. She kept insisting I was wrong, and I told her I was getting the 5.00 Reel Deal and pointed to the menu. She looked up there but still told me I was wrong. So I told her I drive over there just about every day and I know what I'm talking about. Then I asked to speak to the manager or supervisor. She told me I don't have to raise my voice and I told her I'm not but maybe I should since she's not understanding anything else. She kept saying no I don't. Just arguing with me. The boy on the drive through came over and finished my order. Came to 5.41 not 5.95. The manager or supervisor came out, and when I explained to her what had happened, she pointed to the regular sandwich combo for 5.45 and thought the girl was thinking of that. I told her no, the girl looked at the Reel Deal when I pointed it out to her. The girl never told me about the regular price of 5.45. Anyway, I won't be going back. I don't drive that...

I hadn't been to a LJS in years and was not familiar with their current menu. I have a gluten sensitivity, so I have to watch what I eat.

The first cashier we encountered was very unconcerned with my dietary restrictions and impatient when I asked about certain ingredients in the food. A second cashier attempted to take the order but her attitude was as bad as the first. Lastly, a third cashier chimed in and was extremely helpful. (Third time's a charm 😂) We asked her to take over the transition. The original cashier and another coworker went in the back talking very about us to the point the cashier who took over the transition had to excuse herself, go in the back and ask them to stop!

I'm super terrible with names. The older black woman (3rd cashier) stepped in to help and was extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients and menu items; turning what started out as an uncomfortable experience to a very pleasant one. Her smile and tone made a huge difference which calmed everyone down.

We dined inside.

Upon leaving we had the pleasure of speaking with the woman again and the cook.

I'm happy to say they have 3 new amazing grilled fish and shrimp menu items. I had the southwest shrimp bowl! Awesome choice and filling.

I will go again.....but it will definitely depend on...

My name is David West, I was in the store on 07/12/2025 at 12:56pm, and was served by Dianne M, who was the RUDEST person i have ever experienced. I was making conversation about not knowing they had a location in Elgin Texas, and her response was " I don't care about other locations, that the location she works in can't keep that place running smooth, so why should she care. Then i asked her if it was cheaper to get a combo, rather than individual pieces, and again, her response was " I don't care what you get" If this person is not reprimanded after this experience, i will take it to Corporate level. I am a business owner, and have thousands of happy customers, that i would never be rude to. I do not Tolerate behaviour like that from anyone. She doesn't belong in customer service. She is too blunt with people, and with a don't care attitude. I would like to be contacted by someone from upper hand. On top of all this, my to go order ended up missing Fish that i ordered, and i called the store once i got home on that, and i'm 28 miles away, and i go there 3 times per week. And the lady i spoke to on the phone wasn't Dianne, and was very nice, and told me to come in and get my 2 pieces of...
