Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab — Restaurant in Rowland Heights

3.5 stars since I think service could be better, but the food and drinks were excellent! We were going in for 99 Ranch and noticed Smoking Tiger was open. Decided to stop by for some drinks and check it out. Parking is easy in the plaza, the places is clean and has a pleasant layout with tables and bench seating.

The giant ac/air unit in the middle of the room was a bit annoying, but I guess you do what you gotta do.

Not pictured but I love their banana bread. It’s was moist and flavorful. Not overly sweet.

Their main menu is posted on the tv’s and their seasonal rotating menu is by the cashier. We didn’t know they had the seasonal until we were just about to order.

Prices are fair, although I wish the drink size upcharge and milk substitutes were more clearly visible, not in bottom right corner of the menu and small.

Staff/service is meh to be honest. The person taking our order kinda just stood by iPad and didn’t say anything until I asked if I could order. No greeting whatsoever, no offer to explain the menu or ask is if we had any questions.

Drinks were really good though. Tried the jeju matcha latte. Not overly sweet and you can really taste the matcha.

Smokin’ Spaniard was also delicious. I love the strong coffee flavor. I’m always hesitant that drinks like that would be overly sweetened where you lose the coffee flavor. This didn’t disappoint.

Got a peach sparkling drink. Nice and refreshing, though the bits of peaches were just too big and downstairs work with their straws.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Their drinks aren’t super bad, but there is definitely space for improvement. It is actually one of the WORST matches I’ve drank in the area. I had high expectations because it looked like they were quite busy. ✏️While they do specialize in coffee, even generic boba shops like sunright makes better matcha. Not only did the matcha taste watered down, the whole drink felt off. Not sure if it has to do with the brand of matcha they use or how they are making it. I got the Strawberry Matcha and it was disappointing. Giving a 3 star instead of 2 because the shop is very nice and the customer service was excellent too. food itself is very good. however some of the younger staff are very slow. I ordered a bread and chose for it to be heated up, but the staff forgot the bread in the oven, so I had to wait for 20 minutes before getting up and reminding them. when they did give it to me, they were very sheepish and didn't apologize at all.

my friend ordered a cup of plain milk, and somehow still had to wait for 10 minutes before receiving her order, when all that had to be done was pouring the milk a cup and closing it. it js looks bad.
