Giancarlo's Bakery — Restaurant in Roxbury Township

Lamest cake I have seen!!!! We ordered a cake for my daughter for her 2 me bday from this bakery. I saw some pics on Facebook on their Page and thought they ll do a decent job. My wife went to order a cake and told them we want something for a 2year old with fishes as theme. Their was a young lady , she didn't show her any designs or any past work. My wife also did not show her pic from their Facebook page to give them idea. She thought it can't be that bad. But when we received the cake it had fishes on it and it looked like it was drawn by a 5 year old kid. It was very very very disappointing. I felt like taking it back at smashing at their face at first. But they got lucky since it was my daughter's bday and I didn't want any Negative vibes that day. We went to great wolf lodge for her birthday , and got her another cake their . It made me feel little better. I can't deny that it's my wife's fault too that she didn't ask for design . But still they could have done an average job on cake . They put a 0 effort on making this cake. I am posting a pic and u can take a look: Taste of cake was also average and nothing special . I hate to give negative reviews but I had to since this cake was for my child. I don't want any parent to feel what i felt. I moved to the area about a year ago and was looking for a local bakery. I was so happy to find Giancarlo’s! I actually worked for the owner when I was in high school when he owned a different bakery and was so happy to see that he owned a new place locally as his baking is unlike any other. Giancarlo’s is the best in the area for sure. So many amazing bakery items to choose from at reasonable prices. You know you’ll always get fresh and high quality baked goods. I really enjoy the coffee cakes, Philly fluff cake, lemon bundt cake, taralles, chocolate strawberry short cake, and cannoli cake! Additionally, the deli section is incredible. My wife and I frequently buy lunch from there. Their chicken cutlet sandwiches and wraps are delicious. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, especially Mike the manager. First impressions mean everything! This place is amazing! I was in need of a tres leche cake tonight and googled near by places. Everyone i called told me it would take 8 hours to make and it would cost $40. Some places didnt even make this cake which was a huge surprise due to being a spanish bakery. At last i found this gem of a location! They had two cakes in stock. Decorated before i arrived and the cake was ready in minutes! When i walked into this location it was well lit and bright. Very clean and covered in a wide selection of yummy desserts. They even had a deli department that looked amazing! This locations customer service was surperb and the cake i bought was gorgeous! Better then i expected! The best part is that the cake was $15 cheaper then what i was quoted at other places.
