This is going to be long, we had a reservation for 6:15, we arrived at 6:20 due to the roads being closed for arts, beats, and eats. We got sat at 6:30. We came here for my birthday; I had seen so many advertisements we thought we would try it. There was 10 of us for my birthday and after being sat at 6:30 our drinks did not arrive until 7. After our drinks came, we placed appetizers that did not come out until 7:30, we then placed our food order knowing it was going to take a while based on drinks and appetizers. What we didn't know was how awful this was going to go. We asked for our water to get refilled which only happened once. My sister-in-law's boyfriend got his food, after 10 minutes she finally got hers, then our friend got his food and his fiancé who is pregnant had to wait 20 more minutes after him to get hers. My other two friends got theirs and then my fiancé got his. My two friends who ordered one bowl to share and I who ordered shrimp scampi still hasn't come out. We waited until 8:45 to finally say something, the server came back over with a menu, she told my friends that their food got ran to a different table on accident and she never got notified from the kitchen that they were out of shrimp so she gave me the menu to pick a new dish and said it would be on the house, which was the least they could do at this point. I then ordered fettucine alfredo. At this point we have been here for 3 hours with 3 of us still not having food. The food runner with black hair and tattoos, finally came over with a bowl of food and said "chicken parm" well none of us ordered that so we were confused. After it was said that I had gotten fettucine alfredo, she said oh this is that. I reached out my hands to finally eat my birthday dinner after waiting an hour and a half and she didn't even give me a chance she said, "I'm just gonna box it." At this point we are still waiting on my friend's food to come to the table. We had been told the manager was going to come over to talk to us and after 30 minutes of waiting, a different manager came over. She notified us that the first dish for my friends was ran by the same girl with black hair and tattoos to a different table, the remake was then given out as a carryout, they also didn't let us know this until the manager came over. She asked if we were okay waiting for a new remake, to which we said no, after this, the manager said that my drinks would be free to which my friend argued that my food should be free as well, after going back and forth with her she finally said she would take it off the bill. We asked the manager for the bill; she brought it over and said that my dinner and drinks were on the house because it was birthday. Having worked in the industry myself, this was wrong, the entire night was wrong and all she did was take off my food and my drinks. So, my fiancé handed her his card and before she took it, I looked over the receipt and my original order of shrimp scampi was still on the bill. I let her know that and she took it off and gave us a free round of drinks. In my personal opinion, we are not the kind of people to ask for things to be taken off the bill, we are very understanding people but, in this instance, everything had been messed up all night, down to the bill still having something on there that they ran out of. I took the time to look over the bill and it seemed like what was given to us was on there, so we paid. The server came back with a $100 gift card and said she hopes we come back again when things get better. After reading reviews and looking at the gift card. Adam Markel, the owner, closed pinky's and rebranded. All night they kept blaming the issues being a grand opening issue, but again after reading reviews and looking at the gift card, Bella Limone is not on the gift card, and it is still pinky's. I can't say that we won't ever come back but after the awful things that happened last night and reading Adam Markel's reviews for all his restaurants, this guy should probably pick a different...
Read moreMost menu items here will require an upcharge. You order pasta, and if you want something with it, like chicken or shrimp, it's extra. $2 PER shrimp to add to your already $20 small size bowl of spaghetti for example, or $10 extra to add some chicken with your Alfredo. The base prices are high enough to warrant chicken and or shrimp to already be included. Who has just spaghetti on its own?
The meals are not that big and price is not realistic for their portion size. They offer a small and large meal size, which my wife ordered the small and I the large. The large size just looked like a small serving, but spread out on a larger plate.
No bread offered, which I thought would be usual being an Italian place, but they'd probably put it as upcharge though if they did offer it.
I find it's harder these days to warrant going out to eat with these nickel and dime tactics, serving adults kids size portions, which TBF is what I'm experiencing more with restaurants these days.
Like most have mentioned, the wait times are longer than one would expect, but the Carrot cake was a well sized and was tasty and our server was well mannered and attentive, but we won't be going back.
Regardless of my thoughts on this place, I still enjoyed the evening, but I put that down to my better half. Her company and attitude allows me to look past these short comings and concentrate on the good conversation and presence together.
We will likely stick with going to Maggiano's Little Italy in Troy in the future, even if it's a little further away for us. They...
Read moreI don’t usually leave a review when the restaurant is so new but hoping this will help in someway. We ordered a bottle of wine and decided to start with meatballs as an appetizer we ordered the meatballs well after the bottle of wine was ordered. The meatballs were delivered in about five minutes and we still had to wait a while for our wine. I usually like to drink wine with my food, especially at an Italian restaurant. I asked if there was bread service and she mentioned there was some garlic bread. I said that sounded great because we like to have bread with our meatballs and sauce. We had to wait a while for the bread to finally arrive, to the point where my husband had to ask her again. By then the meatballs were cold. I did feel the service was rushed when ordering. She was quickly at our table for our next order when we like to sit and enjoy dinner and take a little bit of time. We had to send her away a couple times. I ordered the carbonara and it was unfortunately swimming in sauce. The two egg yolks they had placed on top were quickly lost among the cream sauce that it was swimming in so it was more wet than creamy. The chicken limone had way too many seasonings in the breading. It overpowered the subtlety of the salad and lemon dressing on top. While we were sitting, we saw many runners come out and try to serve food to the wrong table. There was a lot of confusion going on of where the food should be placed. Hoping they work...
