The food was as delicious as I've come to expect from Popeye's, but the service left me wondering what was going on behind the counter. I usually spout my order out fairly quickly (three piece, spicy, all white, with red beans and rice). It didn't bother too much that the employee didn't catch it all the first time around. When my order was ready for me to pay, I notice the card reader was already showing "Authorizing" even before my card was inserted. Needless to say, my card was rejected twice, once with the chip and once with the magnetic strip. Apparently the reader was broke, the employee knew it wasn't working, and still used that particular terminal to take my order. He switched terminals, input my order again, and the new card reader work on the first try. Usually when I have ordered from Popeye's, there is very little wait unless there is no chicken available for my order. I could see plenty of chicken on the rack, enough of the exact pieces to fill my order about three times. I still ended up filling my drink, gathering all the necessary utensils, finding a seat, and still waited about ten minutes before my order was ready for pick up. If it wasn't for the wait time, I would have given my review between 4 and 5 stars (the cleanliness of the store could have been better). I don't think the time problem was due to being understaffed. It looked like there were plenty of employees behind the counter. It appeared to be the employees didn't have much motivation to get the orders...
Read moreMind blown by how bad the service is and how rude they are here. I came by around 3:00-3:10 on 11/13. I understand food service I used to work in food service for years. But to be so rude. I came here for my birthday because I don’t have much money and this is the one thing I could think I wanted to eat. It’s the one thing I really came to town for. And the whole time the lady rushed our order and was just rude. She asked if we wanted regular or spicy and we said the original. Not the spicy. She told us to pull up. We get a little ways away and I figured they just packaged the sandwich wrong but it was bad. Cold, old, and greasy you could tell it wasn’t fresh. And also it was a spicy. I called and I told them they had messed up my order and I told them my order number and she put me on the phone with the lady that took my order. She basically blamed me saying that we ordered that and it was correct. She said you can come change it just bring the sandwich and receipt but she was very rude the whole time. I pointed that out too. I asked if I had done something to upset her and then she acted clueless. I just told her never mind. At this point I didn’t want to go back. Just so so so rude. I won’t be back...
Read moreI have ate at Popeye's restaurants in many states and this one is not at the level as it could be. The food is good, when they're not out of something basic like mac'n cheese or mashed potatoes. Since the pandemic the line for the drive-through has been causing traffic problems because the parking lot and the drive-through are in odd locations.
I personally have not ate at this restaurant since management has become obsessed with taking back their veteran discounts. For a long while they offered a veteran discount and I was able to order single meals for my wife and I in the same order.
Then management decided to limit the discount to walk-in orders only. Not even a couple months later, they restricted the discount to one order per person and it had to be a walk-in order only! I have no problem paying full price, but if you are going to go through extreme lengths to restrict veteran discounts, I expect the same treatment for law enforcement discounts and other "special group."
This constant change in restrictions for the discount is frustrating and embarrassing. Maybe one day I will eat at Popeye's again, in...
