Can not get an order correct. I have been going to dos coyotes for over 25 years. From when I was a child ordering off their kids menu to taking my family as an adult to their restaurants. I have had the same order the whole time, from 10 yearsyold to 40. Steak ranchero burrito no salsa or guacamole. Pretty straight forward. The Roseville, 65th St, Folsom and Davis locations always deliver on a great quality meal that is not only nostalgic but flavorful and filling. Always right on But This Arden location consistently gets it wrong. Usually this location will get the wrong meat or have the undesired salsa or guacamole on the burrito and I eat it anyways because Dos coyotes food tastes great (even the stuff I don't usually like). Tonight I decided to take a friend to this location because I wanted to share the nostalgia I have for them after we were done shopping in the mall. I ordered my usual, and she ordered chicken burrito. We wait and we get our order promptly and take it to go (along with some great salsas) for 2 meals they include 1 half full bag of chips, as we leave I ask the girl behind the counter for another bag of chips and she rolls her eyes and reluctantly half fills a bag and continues to make small talk with the cooks and we leave. We get home and I take the plate labeled steak and she takes the one labeled chicken. I take my first bite and realized that the burrito labeled steak was chicken, so I inform my friend that I got the chicken burrito and she probably got mine but by the time I got the words out she spit all of her mouthful and started gasping for breath. I learned 2 things in this moment. 1. She didn't get the steak burrito I ordered, she got a shrimp burrito. 2. My friend is allergic to shrimp. Luckily she has been aware of her allergies for a while and had an inhaler that helped allievite her symptoms. Thankfully she is ok health wise and I decided to have a burger for dinner instead. But an awful reminder that this Arden location is THE WORST representation of Bobby Coyotes awesome restaurants that I have patronized since I was a kid but after tonight's debacle, I can not endorse anyone going here. However I do recommend the other locations for great border food, STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreEdited to add: less than 20 minutes after eating here... we all started having stomach problems.... DO NOT EAT HERE! The workers were okay but the male cashier was condescending when he made a mistake on our order. None of the salsa was even spicy and didn't taste very fresh, their spiciest salsa including their fresh jalapenos were very mild and flavorless to a point I felt like the food wasn't worth eating. They messed up when on our order in multiple ways on multiple items. Their alcohol is overpriced not great they even forgot to salt the rim even after asking if we wanted it. Everything was dry and bland and for a family that loves Mexican food WE most definitely WILL NOT BE coming BACK! Should shut their doors at this point if they can't even remember an order two minutes after it's given and can't flavor food properly. The chicken in my tacos was so dry and tasted like it was days old to the point I didn't even eat them after first bite.... Disgusting the lettuce also didn't taste fresh but rather like it sat in an open container for days on end and then was washed before serving to appear fresh but clearly dull in color and tasted old. Salsa select HORRIBLE! Fire roasted ... I think not!!! Spicy level ......
Read moreOk so I really haven't had much success with Dos Coyotes food other than thier chicken tacos. Today I decided to go out of the box and expand my experience with DC. My friends, don't leave the box! I ordered the chicken taco and cheese quesadilla, oh wait, cheese enchilada plate. With the green tamaillo sauce. Ok my taco was ok, rice ok but bland and beans ok if a little salty. I expected this so ok. But my enchilada was just 2 slapped together cheese quesadilla thrown on my plate with a green sauce that was WAAAYYYY too spicy. Even my friend who LIKES very spicy salsa could not eat it. The cashier said it was a little spicy, ok- but I wasn't expecting the firery taste of get me some milk! And yes I know that cheese quesadilla and cheese enchilada are basically the same. Just the enchilada is rolled. But come on, I paid for a roll up, give me a rolled up tortilla! Or at least pretend to put some effort into it. Ugh! I could not finish my meal. I left disappointed, still hungry and minus some serious cash for a taco! Will I go back, unfortunately yes, because my friends like it. They only get the burritos, but I guess I will just stick with my taco...
