I recently visited Applebee’s after not having been there in quite some time, and I have to say that my experience was beyond exceptional. This was largely due to our waiter, Jeff. From the moment we sat down, Jeff’s energy and warmth immediately stood out to us. He greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel right at home. His friendliness wasn’t just surface-level; he truly made an effort to connect with us and ensure we had a great time throughout our entire meal.
What really impressed us was how quickly Jeff managed to handle everything. He was easily the fastest server we’ve ever had. Our drinks and appetizers arrived in record time, and he didn’t miss a beat when it came to keeping everything flowing smoothly. At no point did we ever have to ask for anything because Jeff was consistently ahead of our needs. It was as if he could anticipate when we needed refills or when it was time for the next course.
Aside from being efficient, Jeff was incredibly communicative. He checked in regularly, making sure we were aware of any updates about our food and that everything was going well. He took the time to explain the specials and gave us recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Communication is key in any dining experience, and Jeff truly excelled in this area. He made sure we felt informed without ever being intrusive.
Another highlight of the evening was Jeff’s sense of humor. It’s not often that a waiter can effortlessly balance professionalism with humor, but Jeff nailed it. He had us laughing throughout our meal with light-hearted jokes and a positive attitude that was infectious. His ability to keep things light and fun made the entire dining experience feel much more relaxed and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a server who can make you feel like you’re dining with an old friend, but Jeff did just that.
We hadn’t visited Applebee’s in a while, but after our experience with Jeff, we’re already planning our next trip back. Honestly, we’ll be returning primarily because of him. The food was good, but the service Jeff provided is what truly left a lasting impression on us. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to making their customers’ experience memorable, and Jeff exceeded all our expectations. His combination of speed, humor, and attentiveness was the perfect mix, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about the people he serves.
We can confidently say that we’ll be returning to Applebee’s specifically to be served by Jeff. He’s the type of waiter who turns a regular meal into an outstanding experience, and we can’t wait to see him again. If you’re planning to visit Applebee’s, I highly recommend asking for Jeff. You won’t be disappointed! We loved him and can’t wait to come back for another unforgettable dining experience. Applebee’s is lucky to have him, and we’re lucky we got to experience his...
Read moreFlew back into Sacramento and decided to grab dinner with my buddy before we headed home. He ordered the shrimp and steak parmesan, and I ordered the ribeye; both medium. When the food comes out, my buddy gets his medium, and mine is well done. Thinking maybe somehow she heard the wrong thing or I said the wrong thing, the waitress confirmed that we both did indeed order medium steaks. I showed her my steak, and she agreed that it was way over-cooked. She sent it back to get another order put in. By the time she gets me the second order, it's been about 45 minutes, and my buddy had finished his food. I cut into the second steak, and it's exactly cooked the same. I showed the waitress, and she was shocked that it would come out exactly the same. She got the manager and had him see the steak. The manager was apologetic and was kind enough to ask if I would like anything else from the menu. It's been 50 minutes since we've been there and my friend has already finished his food. Are we both supposed to wait another 20 minutes for food that may or may not come out correctly and have him sit and watch as I eat? I don't know about anyone else, but I do not go to a restaurant with others so that we can each take turns watching the other eat. The manager was then nice enough to tell us that he would not charge us for the steak dinner they messed up twice. It's a great way of apologizing for wasting my time coming out to eat and not getting to eat anything at all. At the very least, they could have comped my soda. At least both the manager and waitress were nice about it, but it's a great way to spend 60 minutes expecting to eat and then leaving a restaurant starving. 1 start since the manager and waitress were nice even though I...
Read moreI've given up on dining out since Covid. Can't find good food anywhere. My wife, my son and I came here a couple hours ago. It was not busy and we were sat right away. I think the server was trying, but I think the back house let him down at every turn. I ordered fish and chips, my wife and sons both got a full rack of ribs. My wife asked for loaded mashed potatoes with no sour cream instead of the slaw and my son ordered cheesy broccoli instead of his slaw. I asked for extra tarter sauce. My wife's ribs and my fish and chips came first. Her mashed potatoes had sour cream (requested none) and my fish and chips had no chips or tarter. Just 3 pieces of fish on a plate. I thought they might be bringing the rest with my sons ribs. After at least 5 minutes, they brought my sons ribs and nothing else. They forgot his broccoli. We asked for the mashed potatoes to be fixed and for my fries and tarter, as well as my sons broccoli. After a while, they brought my wife mashed potatoes, my fries and tarter sauce and my sons broccoli. The fries were fairly old tasting, my fish was soggy on the plate side and the tarter sauce had a strange taste (not even sure it was tarter sauce). The broccoli for my son was just plain broccoli (supposed to be cheesy broccoli) and the food was barely warm. This was a horrible experience. I've given up on getting a decent meal anywhere. My wife and son both aren't feeling great only 2 hours after the meal. I'm praying it's not the ribs. I think 2 stars was generous. I don't fault the server as much as the...
