Bad food Quality Bad service in-house Lack of follow up Unprofessionalism from the Owner
I came here on July 5th with my child and spouse, and ordered the following: Bento Box w/Sashimi (2) California Rolls Dragon Roll Some other roll
They brought out the Bento Box first, without the sashimi. This was my spouses meal, in which we waited but after 5-10 mintues we decided to share it due to the wait. I had asked the cashier twice where and when the rest of the food would come, (mine and my childs order)
After waiting 20 minutues, and also completing the Bento Box, I asked the cashier to at least bring my childs california rolls out. They did, and we waited AGAIN. After another 5 minutues, I had asked what was going on with the remaining order, and let him know we still did not even get the sashimi from the Bento Box.
He then left and brought out the sashimi, which we hungrily ate. It took another 5 minutes to get the dragon roll, and then after some time, the last roll.
Once we tasted the dragon roll, and the lat roll - the seaweed used was not fresh, extremely chewy and stringy. The sushi roll had old - or ingredients used that had been left out, that made both rolls un-edible. This in turn, did not give me faith in eating the sashimi that came late.
Further, when I made note of the old, bad quality sushi rolls, my son stated that the california rolls also tasted old. We were unable to eat the following:

Also, each food item came out 20 minutes apart. I let the cashier at the front know, in which he told me he did not have the ability to process a refund and would call the owner. He gave me the owners phone number and said to process my refund of $74.49 she would be calling me here shortly.
I never recieved a call that day, and called Bento Box later that night. The same casher assured me she would call - she did not. I called the next day and was told she would call - she did not. I was given her phone number again, and told to give her a call.
It is now August 4th, thirty days since Ive tried to get this handled. I have texted the owner a total of 9 times for my refund, and called her number as well as the restaurant at least 10 times since.

I looked at the menu ahead of time and wanted the daily special which was teriyaki chicken and 4 piece gyoza. I went up to register ordered the chicken teriyaki and Gyoza. When the staff read my total I asked: that’s how much your daily special is? She said you didn’t order lunch special you have to say lunch special. I clarified what i wanted and she said she would adjust. I paid, left a tip and grabbed receipt. It came out to $32. I looked on the receipt and she charged me $10 for an order of gyoza. I asked to speak to the staff who I believe was a manager and she said because I didn’t specify lunch special that was how she rung up order. I pointed out that I had clarified I wanted the lunch special prior to paying. She told me she couldn’t adjust and would have to void entire order and start again. Since I was with a group i didn’t want to hold anybody up. Mind you I ordered right after my colleagues. I sat down and they brought out people’s food one by one. They brought the gyoza order and I asked for a box. My food was not coming. Fifteen minutes later (12:29) I asked one of the workers if my order was coming out. She told me: they’re working on it. Finally at 12:43 they brought out the food and I said can you just put it in a to go box, I have to leave. She took the plate. At 12:50 I got up to tell them I wanted to cancel and she was handing me my order. I told her I no longer wanted it and would like money back. The manager came to speak to me and said the same thing. I didn’t specify lunch special. I told her that was no longer issue and pointed out how long it took for my order to arrive. It was not lost on me that I complained and surprise surprise my order took a long time. The mgr said because I asked for it to go they had to re-fire the food. Not ounce did she offer a partial refund much less a full. She never even apologized. And just as I thought, my food was lukewarm at best. It was definitely not fresh. Read moreI have to sadly admit. I have never experienced racism and discrimination until this year and it has happen countless times. I usually meet my clients downtown in a restaurant and this Bento Box due to late hours of my clients arrival to Sacramento, I thought Bento Box was the perfect spot. I thought wrong. The moment we enter I could feel eyes every where looking as if we don't belong there. The staff at the bar immediately had an attitude with us when we sat to talk and waited on his service. He got angry because my client who is black raised his hands to request service. He later came over when he thought it was convenient to serve us. My client ordered hennessy to be warmed for 20 seconds and his girl order top ramen. The staff came back with the drink which my client complained that it was not warm and he requested it be warmed for 20 seconds. The staff refusal turn to anger he went and told his lead I believe and the lead came over and said they can't warm the same glass again if he wants another drink. My thoughts were why not get another glass and warm it for 20 seconds. We went back and forth conversing about this when they went at the back and the staff came back and said we're cancelling your order, we have the right to refuse service. This truly stunted me as there was no authentic cause for this. I believe the staff from begining did not want to deal with us because of his perception of black people.
