They canceled my mothers V-Day Order and didn't even notify me the Grub Hub driver called to try and help and they could have cared less.
Non Existent Customer Service at this place...
Decided to try this place out for Valentine's Day for my mother. Thought it would be a nice treat for my mother who hasn't been out in months. Placed my order a day in advance on Grubhub $70 plus order to be picked up and delivered on Valentine's Day. Apparently, they decided to not honor any Grub Orders even though it had been paid for, oh and they didn't even bother to let me know, because I guess customers don't matter. How F'ed up is that for Valentine's Day!!! The grub hub driver arrived there to pick up the order only to find out it had been canceled by the store. This is no way to treat customers, delivery drivers, or more importantly the sweet lady who was waiting at home for her valentines. They essentially screwed over 4 people and didn't even give a dam. The driver called me and I spoke with the Assistant Manager who told me they decided not to honor Grub Hub orders and that if I wanted to come to pick up the order and stand in line behind the 50 plus people in line I could get an order that way??? So I asked since the driver was already there and that since they had to cancel the order if I could just give her a credit card pay for the order and have the driver deliver it. I also explained this was for my elderly mother who was not going out because of the shutdown and I was simply trying to show her some love and bring her some joy and could she possibly help. The employee said there was nothing that could be done and if I wanted to order I could come in and wait in line??? I explained to her several times I lived across the country and obviously, I couldn't come in. I also asked her to come up with a solution she said she didn't have time.
Now I know first hand why See's is so popular been ordering with them for 40 plus years, never once had a problem.
At this point don't really care how wonderful anything they make is, the way they treat customers is...
Read moreWe have been very pleased with the quality of GE's Gianduja & Opera Cakes. They are delicious, and dissolve in your mouth. For this we would give it a 5* Review. But the Frozen Treats, that's another story. Our 1* Review is based on last night's experience trying their Frozen Treats. We were extremely disappointed to try these Frozen treats after the high marks they had received. They are overpriced for what they are. We tried their Almond Rocher IceCream Bar, which, by the way, is NOT rolled in almonds, but with a very sparse amount of nuts, the chocolate is definitely NOT 72% Bittersweet, and the vanilla ice-cream inside is more like a water-based sherbet than a creamy frozen vanilla treat. It is also a small bar for $5. Then we tried their Caramelized Milk & Coffee Parisian Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich ($6.50), which people had raved about. Another disappointment. The ice-cream was tasteless and the chocolate macarons were SO SWEET that it totally ruined the whole experience. And by the way, who cares about where it comes from? Chocolate FISH Coffee Roaster? Really? The other thing that turned us off was the fact that when we paid with a credit card, the very minute our card was scanned, the person taking our order started with this rehearsed script starting with "How is your day going so far? Have been out for dinner? Where was that? How was that?......" As the next screen pops up you see the total, then another screen pops up with options for Tips (Really? for doing what? for taking the Frozen Treats out of the big refrigerators in the back? There is of course an option for No Tips, but the mere fact that it is there makes one feel 'put on the spot') Tipping has always been optional. If you wish for people to leave tips, just put a container where people can leave one if they wish to do so. We definitely don't recommend these Frozen Treats. Even Costco has a better ice-cream bar. We don't understand what all the...
Read more6/28/24 Update: Well, I guess I'm done with Ginger Elizabeth. It was bad enough when the quality of her chocolate dropped. It was bad enough when she stopped doing bakery goods. It was bad enough when she was constantly posting these weird posts on her social media. Now I'm finding that she mistreats and underpays her employees? Yeah, no. That's definitely where I draw the line.
4/15/24 Update: Updating my review from five stars to three. Let me explain. First, they stopped making pastries. Their pastries, not their chocolates, were rapidly becoming the reason I'd go to Ginger Elizabeth. Which brings me to my second point. Their chocolates are not as good as they used to be. It breaks my heart to say it. I've been going to Ginger Elizabeth for several years, and their chocolate was always on point. Until recently. I don't know what's going on, but their flavor combinations have been borderline disgusting lately. My partner got me a 48 piece box for my birthday, and only about a third of them were yummy. The rest were ones I gave to friends who'd excitedly eat them, get a weird look on their face, and politely say "hmmm... well, that's unique". So yeah. I would say maybe it's just me and my taste buds, but when the overwhelming consensus with my family and in my friend group is "yeah, no thanks" I'm pretty sure it's not just me.
Original Review: Literally THE BEST CHOCOLATE in the United States. That's not hyperbole either! If you're in the area, you have to check them out. Like, you have to. Everything is delicious, everything is absolutely high quality. It's pricey, yes, but absolutely...
