It’s been a few years since I last visited Tres Hermanas. Last time was pre-pandemic. This time, I’m here with some of my buddies. It’s a Friday (1/19) afternoon lunch social. The place is trendy and very fitting for a Mexican Restaurant. Ambiance is inviting and hospitable. A definite 5/5. We didn’t have to wait long to get a table. Our server was Anita. She was polite, friendly, and attentive but not overbearing. Her service was excellent. A solid 5/5 rating for Anita. Upon ordering, our food arrived from the kitchen within about 10-15 minutes or so. It was hot and met all expectations. The portions are hefty as you can see by the picture. I ordered a Chicken Burrito with Red Sauce over it. The taste was very delicious! The burrito came out moist and packed with a ton of flavors. It was overly spicy but it was definitely yummy. The rice came out perfect and the black beans were a hit. Overall, the food came out to be a solid 5/5. My cost for my meal with tax and tip came out to be about $23 and that’s with water. Had I ordered a drink, would set me back closer to $30+. Value to price ratio is about 4/5 only because $23 for a lunch with water is definitely on the higher side especially for Mexican food. Overall experience is about a 4.5/5. I would definitely return to this place and look forward to trying out some of the other items on the menu including their cocktails. If you’re in the area, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed with the food and you won’t leave hungry; but be prepared to pay a higher premium for the dining experience. I took my wife out for a meal (making the drive from Davis). My wife had two Margarita's and a full salad. These items were good for my wife. I ordered the nachos with steak. I also paired it with coffee. My criticisms are with the nachos. By the time I received my order, the beans and cheese was well within their cooling period. This caused my order to congeal into a tasteless brick of something...after paying the full bill and leaving a 20% tip, it dawned on me that the sour cream and guacamole were missing. Not adding these ingredients would have made all the difference. I should have noticed but didn't as I was having deep conversation with my wife. As I was leaving, I went immediately back in to speak with the person who seated us. I pointed out my concerns to which she quickly pointed out it was the server who had final responsibility to complete the dish. I requested she report this to her manager as I had to leave to pick up my kids. She was one of the most disinterested people I have met in a long time. Playing the blame game does not sit well with me. During a time when many small businesses are having to shut down due to loss of revenue, it now becomes the responsibility of the management to ask themselves if their team can do any more to improve their customer experience. It certainly doesn't mean to give away product in an effort to make up for team shortcomings. Certain businesses tend to forget the processes which go into their customer walking in. A conscious set of decisions and actions your customer goes through to arrive to your establishment and spend their limited resources to have a meal and a drink only to be let down. To the management and team members, the $75.00 I spent for a couple of margaritas, coffee, a salad and nachos was not worth the price for substandard food. Is it really worth it in terms of permenently loosing a customer when there are so many other dining options from restaurants who truely appreciate customers spending their hard earned money in support of their business? When was the last time and of your team personally said "Thanks for stopping in. We appreciate your business." Thanks for taking the time to read.

The food was extremely inconsistent. One plate was so hot my girlfriend burned her mouth. My dish was cold and calling it luke warm is being generous. Let's discuss the enchiladas that were scalding hot and had steam coming out of them for at least 15 minutes after it arrived. I believe it was microwaved due to how hot it was. My burrito on the other hand was cold. There was some flavor there, but since my plate sat in the window and was cold I didn't really enjoy it. I will say the rice was good and I liked it. Has a steak taco too and it had some good flavor, but again was cold and wasn't very appetizing. Once seated you are served this ridiculously small amount of chips and salsa and you better hope that gets you to the meal because you will probably only see your waitress once the entire dinner. Expect to wait a long time for that food. I want to say the hostess was hustling on a busy Friday night and it did not go unnoticed. I hope she's included in that tip pool at the end of the night. As of October 2021 the impression I had was this place is suffering from a staff shortage that is plaguing a lot of restaurants in the country. I would visit again when the restaurant is staffed correctly. I might enjoy my meal better if it came out fresh from the kitchen. As it stands now there are too many other places offering a better experience.

Decided to stop by for a quick to-go order. Unfortunately, the experience was not good. I ordered a steak burrito. When I got the receipt, it showed as a quesadilla. Staff didn't charge me again for the difference (a few dollars), which was nice, but took a downhill from here. It took close to 40 minutes for the burrito to come out. Staff was a bit nonexistent during this time. We noticed different parties come in, stand there a few minutes, and ended up leaving since no one greeted them. The burrito came with chips and salsa. My surprise was it was very small. When I took a bite, inside was only steak and fajitas. My mistake...since I double checked the menu and it really only lists those two ingredients. Not sure why their burrito lacks so many other ingredients...and I was more confused why this took 40 minutes to come out. Because it was all fajitas, the burrito gets super soggy and wet. Not worth for the original price of $18. I personally won't be back...hoping this was a one-off and that other people's experiences are better. Street parking only.

I had lunch at Tres Hermanas for the first time a couple of days ago. I ordered my usual for trying out a new Mexican restaurant: chile relleno and cheese enchilada combo. Compared to other Mexican restaurants, their versions were pretty good. What made the meal outstanding were the salad with cilantro dressing and the black beans which were the best I ever had. The cilantro dressing was good enough that I asked for the recipe. No luck, so I will try to find the recipe online. Another point in favor of the restaurant is the fact that they offer vegetarian fried rice as well as rice made with meat stock. Few restaurants even know that vegetarians won't eat rice dishes containing meat stock and offer no alternative. The total cost of the meal was about $19 plus tip. The portions were large enough to be able to take home leftovers so I got an extra meal for that price. I will be back.
