I don't think I've ever experienced such awful push back from a server before like I did from the server, Ana S. regarding an issue w/my food. She was extremely unprofessional in the way she handled it, and not only that, after we paid for our meal, she felt the need to re-visit what happened earlier w/my food (I was willing to let it slide), but not her. She decided that she would make it "a point" to let me know, again, that she thought I was in the "wrong", which I was not. That final interaction was the nail in the coffin. And yes, I did speak w/the manager on the way out the door. Lesson learned, she said she would've adjusted our bill if I had asked for her BEFORE we paid. Idk why she didn't offer to do a partial refund when we were standing there.

THE ISSUE: I ordered the 2 crunchy taco plate, one beef + one carnitas. I cracked open the taco shells b/c I wanted to start w/the carnitas. Ana had said their carnitas were popular. They were both carnitas. Where was the beef? Hubby also agreed they looked the same and he couldn't tell them apart by taste either. I figured she'd offer to remake it for me, but not before she got in her 2 cents!! Ana pushed back! She looked at my food and w/ such a snarky tone told me that I was wrong, and insisted my order was correct. She pointed and said, that one is beef, that one is carnitas. She even had to take a few sec to think about it before she spoke. I let her know that I tasted both and they were both carnitas. At this point, I am still being polite and calm about it. But like, how are YOU going to argue w/ME that I'm wrong about what I JUST TASTED. I was so shocked! I insisted that they were both carnitas, and I was willing to die on that hill, even rn. She eventually gave in and asked if I wanted a beef one made and I said yes. I looked at it, but still looked and tasted the same as the other 2 on my plate. I didn't want a repeat interaction so I didn't say anything to her. I packed up my food and I then asked Ana if we could get a little salsa to-go, like those tiny to-go cups for sauce. She said with such an attitude, "would you like to buy it!? We have 8oz, (and named off the other sizes)...". It's not common for Mexican restaurants to do this, so this was a first for me. I could understand if I was asking for a tub and they're well w/in their rights to charge for it. But I just wanted a tiny sauce cup and didn't think it'd be a big deal. I couldn't get over the salsa thing, so I asked her, "you guys really don't give a little bit of salsa to-go?". She said no, even the table salsa has 1 free refill, and if you want more, we charge. My husband is always a generous tipper when we go out, but Ana was awful, AND she was like a hawk, watching him while he paid. She's so money hungry. He paid w/TIP, ONLY b/c the lowest tip option offered on the screen started at 15% and she was pressuring him by staring at him. She could've pretended to at least look away. B/c we were seated across from each other in a booth, I didn't know what he was seeing. If I had the device in MY hand, I would've asked her, "where is the 0% tip option?". After she was tipped, she looked at me and said in Spanish, "isn't it true that the taco WAS beef???" I was shocked. Like, you want to do this AGAIN?My husband and I both shook our heads nope, and I told her what I had said earlier, that they TASTED all the same.I was going to let the earlier stuff slide, but her final behavior was unacceptable and out of line. On our way out, I asked to speak w/the manager about this. She already knew about the food issue earlier b/c she said "Ana is one of our best servers". Umm, I NEVER mentioned Ana by name, so how did the manager know she was OUR server? it's b/c they talked so the mngr. wouldn't be in the dark if I complained. Understandable, but again, I was going to let it slide and not mention it. I shared Ana's final comment to us which was petty. Apparently Ana need to have the last word to feel better about herself. I hope the manager did speak w/her like she...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tres Hermanas in the vibrant Midtown Sacramento, CA, and I can confidently say that it's an outstanding Mexican restaurant. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the convenience of ample parking, making my visit stress-free.

The location itself is charming and nestled in the heart of Midtown. The ambiance is delightful, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. It almost feels as if you've been transported to a vacation spot in Mexico, making your dining experience truly special.

What truly sets Tres Hermanas apart is the exceptional quality of their ingredients. The freshness and authenticity of their Mexican cuisine shine through in every dish. Each bite is a celebration of bold flavors and traditional recipes. It's evident that they take great care in sourcing the finest ingredients to create an authentic culinary experience.

During my visit, our wonderful waitress, Betty, went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was memorable. Her friendly demeanor and attentiveness made us feel welcome and valued. The outstanding service added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal.

The burritos at Tres Hermanas were absolutely delicious. Not only were they packed with flavor, but I also appreciated how they seemed to be prepared with a focus on health. The use of fresh ingredients and thoughtful combinations made me feel like I was indulging in a satisfying and nutritious meal.

Beyond the incredible food and service, the owners of Tres Hermanas were incredibly nice. Their passion for their restaurant and dedication to creating a positive experience for their guests is evident. It's heartwarming to see a small business run by such kind individuals who genuinely care about their customers.

Tres Hermanas is not only a fantastic place for a delicious meal but also an ideal spot for meetings. The inviting ambiance, combined with their excellent food and service, creates the perfect setting for both casual and professional gatherings.

I took my wife out for a meal (making the drive from Davis).

My wife had two Margarita's and a full salad. These items were good for my wife.

I ordered the nachos with steak. I also paired it with coffee.

My criticisms are with the nachos. By the time I received my order, the beans and cheese was well within their cooling period. This caused my order to congeal into a tasteless brick of something...after paying the full bill and leaving a 20% tip, it dawned on me that the sour cream and guacamole were missing. Not adding these ingredients would have made all the difference. I should have noticed but didn't as I was having deep conversation with my wife. As I was leaving, I went immediately back in to speak with the person who seated us. I pointed out my concerns to which she quickly pointed out it was the server who had final responsibility to complete the dish.

I requested she report this to her manager as I had to leave to pick up my kids. She was one of the most disinterested people I have met in a long time.

Playing the blame game does not sit well with me.

During a time when many small businesses are having to shut down due to loss of revenue, it now becomes the responsibility of the management to ask themselves if their team can do any more to improve their customer experience. It certainly doesn't mean to give away product in an effort to make up for team shortcomings.

Certain businesses tend to forget the processes which go into their customer walking in. A conscious set of decisions and actions your customer goes through to arrive to your establishment and spend their limited resources to have a meal and a drink only to be let down.

To the management and team members, the $75.00 I spent for a couple of margaritas, coffee, a salad and nachos was not worth the price for substandard food.

Is it really worth it in terms of permenently loosing a customer when there are so many other dining options from restaurants who truely appreciate customers spending their hard earned money in support of their business? When was the last time and of your team personally said "Thanks for stopping in. We appreciate your business."

Thanks for taking the...

It’s been a few years since I last visited Tres Hermanas. Last time was pre-pandemic. This time, I’m here with some of my buddies. It’s a Friday (1/19) afternoon lunch social. The place is trendy and very fitting for a Mexican Restaurant. Ambiance is inviting and hospitable. A definite 5/5. We didn’t have to wait long to get a table. Our server was Anita. She was polite, friendly, and attentive but not overbearing. Her service was excellent. A solid 5/5 rating for Anita. Upon ordering, our food arrived from the kitchen within about 10-15 minutes or so. It was hot and met all expectations. The portions are hefty as you can see by the picture. I ordered a Chicken Burrito with Red Sauce over it. The taste was very delicious! The burrito came out moist and packed with a ton of flavors. It was overly spicy but it was definitely yummy. The rice came out perfect and the black beans were a hit. Overall, the food came out to be a solid 5/5. My cost for my meal with tax and tip came out to be about $23 and that’s with water. Had I ordered a drink, would set me back closer to $30+. Value to price ratio is about 4/5 only because $23 for a lunch with water is definitely on the higher side especially for Mexican food. Overall experience is about a 4.5/5. I would definitely return to this place and look forward to trying out some of the other items on the menu including their cocktails. If you’re in the area, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed with the food and you won’t leave hungry; but be prepared to pay a higher premium for the dining experience.
