The Chefs' Olive Mix — Restaurant in Sacramento

I did not know this place even existed. I was walking in old sac with my niece. We were going to leave until I saw this place. I went in and saw that they sell flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars...OMG

I tasted many flavors. Some I personally did not like...but others blew my tongue away...

I reduce balsamic and make a glaze to put over beets and other things...now these flavors are awesome.

I loved the raspberry...black cherry...grapefruit...maple...but my favorite was the blackberry ginger. I ended up buying a 750 ml bottle.

The vinegar...they have red and white..I believe the white is 12 year...and the red 18 year...and the flavor...it is quality stuff...

The staff was so friendly and helpful. They will give you a punch card after you buy so many bottles valued at 20 dollars or higher they will give you a 750 ml bottle free...a value of around 38.00 including tax.

The man at the register suggested trying the blackberry over ice cream.. Omg...on the way home stopped to get vanilla bean ice cream...and it taste even better...I could not believe it. I made my niece a funnel cake with ice cream and drizzled this over it...so good.

For the olive oil..they have many flavors...butter flavor is really good. They have little pieces of bread to dip and try the oil. They have flavors like garlic...harissa...blood orange...Persian lime....cilantro...ect.

I had some time to kill while visiting Sacramento and decided to check out Old Town. Many of the stores and restaurants were pretty touristy. However I really liked this shop that sells fine balsalmic vinegars and EVOOs (extra virgin olive oils). I've seen stores like this before but this one was particularly well designed with premiums products that you can sample before buying.

What really sets this one apart from others was the friendly, helpful staff. The young lady that was working there that day greeted me at that door, asked if she could tell me about the store and happily answered my questions.

I cook often and have some very fine, imported vinegars and EVOOs from all over the world. Their selections were delicious and a great value for what it is. I won't stop buying the really expensive, Italian aged Balsamic Vinegar for the rare gourmet gatherings that I attend, but I will be using their product much more often. Absolutely love the selection of infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars here! They had everything I could think of and more from fruity flavors to more savory ones as well as unique pairings I never imagined together but sound like they would be amazing (like blackberry ginger).

The staff were so friendly and informative. We were provided with small bread cubes to compliment what we were tasting. They also had some popcorn samples. We learned of many new ways to enjoy olive oil and white balsamic vinegar that I personally hadn’t thought of before and am now excited to try.
