I don't know how this place has a 4.4 star rating. This place will trick you into thinking it's great if it's your first time there. I've been coming by every blue moon for the last 5-8 years and the management here has never improved. I don't drink so I can't comment on the bar service, but it honestly doesn't matter how many pretty lights or "things" they try to fill their space with. This place is just awful for anyone who wants to have a chill time and be themselves.
They even think that they are classy enough of a place to restrict hats from being worn Fri-Sun every week. This literally makes no sense at all for a public venue and is just STRANGE.
This place is so confusing and I'd even recommend anyone to stop by once to see it, but I can guarantee you that this isn't going to be your regular spot for you and your friends. This place has no chill, they just try to make it look like it does. It's literally so confusing.
Oh in fact, if you're into not talking with your group of friends and sitting ackwardly on a swing with headphones on, then you'll love their many silent discos. A Silent Disco is pretty much the best metaphor to describe this place. It's neat, but it's also just awkward and in the end pretty uncomfortable.
I'm not sure who's running this place's deal is. It has a lot of potential but it's just never reached the value it could have. It's truly a shame but this is actually more like a 2.5 to 3 star venue. 3.5 would be pushing it alot, and that 4.4 star rating that they have currently is...
Read moreThis establishment hires security who will harass and assault you if you’re wearing a hat after 8pm. This bar claims to be “lgbt friendly” and in support of black lives but I was misgendered, aggressively harassed, physically lifted off the ground and forced out of Flamingo House. My partner and I were already walking out of the building and told the security guard we were leaving before the assault happened. This was my very first time going out in Sacramento since I moved here 3 years ago and this experience left me feeling like I never want to go to a bar ever again. Supposedly this bar is black owned so I would love if the owner and management actually step up and hire people who cares more about protecting black queer people and securing a safe space rather than physically assaulting someone over a stupid hat policy five minutes after 8. I had 3 people who followed after me following the altercation and they were equally disgusted at the treatment I received. One of them even told me that the bar was passing out visor hats after I was physically thrown out. Please don’t spend your money or time here until the owner or management makes adequate changes on who they hire for security and the policies they choose to uphold that’s clearly being implemented harder on black and brown people who patron this...

THE BAD * Was told free before 10pm. @9:30, charged $7 Expensive alcohol ($13 a shot of Tito's. $20 bottle at stores) Closed off outside DJ area. Relaxing zone now but was nice having options to dance to. DJ last night 6/7/25 was awful. Turned the place into a rave. Couldn't dance with my lady at all to the music. Literally, paid entrance overcharged for a shot of cheap vodka DJ crushed hopes of dancing. We were out of there within 15min.
OVERALL * It is a good place to visit. First visit? Keep in mind that it can be a hit or miss. I don't recommend doing a 1 and done kind of thing if it was bad. Give it another shot because I've had some good times...
