Willie's Burgers — Restaurant in Sacramento

Service was fine, it's counter service, so it's pretty transactional. No complaints there. Absolutely disgusting food! I got the slammer cc (chili burger with cheese), wife got the chili dog and a medium fry to share. The fries were great, classic frozen fries from sysco or other similar vendor, fried perfectly with a little salt. Perfect. The burger was the most revolting burger I've ever eaten. The tomato was an inch thick, and I'm not exaggerating, so I had to take it off as it was 50% of my burgers volume and thats just too much tomato for any sane person. There was mustard, pickles and onions on the burger, which is not listed on their menu. There was was too much mustard, which became the predominant flavor of the burger. The patty was bland. I couldn't even taste it, there was no seasoning. The chili was awful, it was the consistency of tomato paste, just a full chili pureed paste. It was dry and oozed grease and did not taste good. I've had better chili at a gas station. The chili dog was not any better. It had cheese and chili and nothing else like onions you would expect on a chili dog. The dog itself had less texture than the bun, like a poor quality hot dog thats been sitting in water for days, there was no flavor left in it. And then topped with the paste of chili it was disgusting. All in all we took a couple bites and threw it away....

I've been to this location twice now. First time, was alright. The food was pretty average, and the atmosphere was decent for a late night downtown. Yesterday I visited for the second time, and nothing really seemed to have changed. I could tell the employee at the register was new, and he took our order fine. We went to the table and I thought the total seemed unusually high, so I checked the receipt, and sure enough they charged us for 2 fridge drinks even though we had both ordered water cups. They also included the waters on our receipt, but it appeared they charged us $2 for each of our two waters, which isn't normally a big deal to me, but charging $2/person for water cups seemed a little unreasonable to me. I went back and asked the same employee who helped me if there was a mistake. He obviously wasn't familiar with their prices as he had to run 2 waters through the register just to check. After confirming that they run water through the system as fridge drinks, and that they charged that much for them, he asked another employee if she could also confirm it. After a rude affirmation from her I accepted it and went back to my table to hopefully avoid getting my food spat on. We did an all out full experience from here. We did double bacon cheeseburgers, garlic fries, onion rings and some beignets. The food was 5 stars!! It was amazing. The onion rings are homemade. The garlic fries had the perfect amount of garlic to have great flavor. The burgers were melt in your mouth. Beignets were very fluffy. I actually enjoyed these first to get them warm.

I'm sorry guys to do the three stars, here's why: There were two girls behind the counter that was just standing there talking and giggling. They at first didn't even see us and so we could hear what they were talking about. Was definitely not work related 😳. When they did finally see us they kept talking and didn't come to take our order. So that was frustrating. Then, once we placed our order, they never gave total, ran our card and then said they couldn't give receipt because it was down. Not even the credit portion receipt. So I had to go to my banking to see how much I was being charged. It was hot, there's no AC in the building so after fact felt sorry for the girls having to work thru that by the fryers and grill.
