This bakery was highly recommended by friends’ and family for their service and treats. So, I decided to order a custom birthday cake from them for my daughter’s birthday. I submitted my order a week prior and sent an image via email that they would printout and layer it on top of the cake. My wife picked up the cake the day prior to the occasion. The bakery packaged the cake without showing my wife the end product for customer satisfaction, and sent her on her way. As they were packing it up, at a glance, my wife got a glimpse and the image on top of the cake appeared wrinkled. But thought to herself, staff would have said something if there were any issues with the cake. My wife got home and placed it in a cool dry place until the next day. As we were preparing for the birthday, on the next day, I opened up the box and noticed that the top image was not placed completely flat, causing the wrinkles. I also noticed that they only bordered the cake with one color, not 2 as ordered. The image would have been placed first prior to adding the border decorations (piping), it appears that it was rushed and not taken seriously. The border decoration (piping) should have been 2 colors, yellow & blue, but they only used yellow. I called to inform them of the issues and lack thereof, but all I got was excuse after excuse. When I finally advised the woman over the phone that I wasn’t asking for a refund ($55.11) or another cake, because I needed the cake, since the birthday party was in a couple of hours. She then stopped with the reasoning/excuses and stated she would talk to the person who prepared the cake. After we served the cake, I notice that the chocolate sponge they used was very, very thin. Although this bakery does prepare very good pastries, making custom cakes isn’t their forte. They should just stick to making pastries, or hire someone who knows how to make cakes. I will not be ordering custom cakes from them again. I had a better experience ordering from BJ’s with the same request a...
Read moreNo care for the customers at all. If you’re planning a party don’t bother calling ahead to pre order. A week before the surprise party I was planning I went in to ask if I had to preorder if I was getting large amounts of cookies and pastries. The girl at the counter told me no. The next week I called just to confirm and they told me I did have to pre order. Already confusion but I thought it’s a good thing I called to double check. So I preordered the pastries and cookies and told them my pick up time for 11am. I get a phone call at exactly 11am while I’m on my way over to pick them up and was told they ran out of the cookies I had pre ordered. No apology or anything. Then they proceeded to ask when I was picking up my order because it wasn’t written down…..??? Then they asked if I could come in later on when the cookies were done baking. What??? I was throwing a surprise party that afternoon there was no way. Then I thought maybe I’ll just get more of the pastries I had ordered to make up for the loss but when I went to look at the spots in the display cases they were empty. They didn’t prepare at all. I don’t understand why you would tell your customers to preorder ahead so you have enough cookies for other customers while also making the customer put down a deposit yet then run out. Then to ask if I could come back when I’m throwing the party? That’s just ridiculous. The girl was totally unapologetic both over the phone and when I came to pick up the cookies. Also, make sure to check your boxes before you leave the bakery. Anytime I ask for powdered sugar on the pastries they barely put it on or forget to put any at all. Cannolis were hardly filled as well. You definitely don’t get what you...
Read moreThey totally humiliated me at my gender reveal party. I ordered a cake that was to say "He or She? Cut and see." with chocolate ganache frosting. I showed and texted a picture of the exact cake to the girl taking my order, the girl also wrote it down correct because she let me review it. When my mom picked it up she didnt check it she just brought it over. When it got to my house i was greeting company and about 15 minutes later i remembered the cake was still in the box so i went into the kitchen with about 20 people behind me, i opened up the box and i had an immediate anxiety attack. It was a white cake the said "He or She Touch your toes" it was all smeared and everyone was laughing/in shock. Touch your toes????? I had more guests on the way, Panicking I called the bakery they put me on hold for about 5 minutes which felt like 20 in the state of my panic and they told me to bring it back they will fix it. So being 15 minutes away and a house full of people and the cake is the whole point of the party my mother had ran out back to the bakery for the fix. There was no formal apology, and no type of credit or anything after making my guests wait and my mother run back and forth. I am pregnant and had a panic attack because I trusted Maria's bakery. I lost all respect for...
