I just had the worst experience at Que Pasta in Saddle Brook!! I booked a dinner for our sons and nieces Baptism. We booked about a month back and secured a price for $23.95pp. We were told the price went up to $26, however since we booked prior we wouldn’t need to pay that up charge. Of course, we got this in writing.
The week of the party I called twice to confirm. I was asked about dinner choices, however no one asked me about the final head count. On Friday evening at 10:18PM I got a call from the owner, who was calling to confirm head count, because I never provided it. I informed her I called twice this past week. She apologized and said she is in charge of the parties and only works after 4. We went over the head count and I told her 50. We discussed children, however she did not ask me how many between the ages of 4-10, as this is half price. At 10:30PM I have one eye open and am barely able to think clearly, so I did not elaborate further. Not that I would know to review this, because I have never had a party there before and did not know the process.
The following day I checked her voicemail, which indicated I was being charged for 50 adults since we didn’t provide a head count. Unsure and feeling anxious about the whole thing, I called and spoke with the son of the owner to review the child count and adult count. I was told “no problem” and that everything would be adjusted correctly.
Upon receiving the bill, after issues during dinner which I won’t get into, I was told that I was being charged for 50 adults at $26!! I attempted to clarify with the waiter that this was not correct. After not getting anywhere, I asked to speak with the owner. The owner came out with the contract she wrote for $26pp. My sister and Aunt, who both reviewed the contract in person with the owner, reminded her about the previous price. The owner then began to argue with me about how many children. Even to the point of asking me to point out which kids in the room were between certain ages, not believing me!!! She was exceptionally rude during this process!!! She then indicated I changed the head count, resulting in another argument about the conversation on Friday evening at 10:30!!
Ultimately, she stormed away from me and slammed the door in my face!!! I was shocked and appalled that an owner of a business would handle a situation in this manner, completely curt and disrespectful!!
Do yourself a favor and don’t book a party at Que Pasta in Saddle Brook!! You will be treated with disrespect and utter inconsideration as...
Read moreUsed to love coming here for dinner. Had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was a disaster. We were told to get there early to miss the rush, so got there when requested and NOTHING was ready. We weren't even allowed to walk through the restaurant to get to the party room and instead had to walk around the outside to the party room. It was freezing outside... Other customers were walking through our room, even as we were having intimate moments like greeting guests and toasting. As the bride, I had to receive my food first since I had to leave early... after waiting for over 2 hours for the prefix penne vodka, and it did not taste good. It was pretty flavorless, which I am surprised about since I used to dine here and have had the penne vodka before and it had flavor in the past. Even the presentation was not nice. Looked like it was thrown on the dish just to 'shut me up'. Other people attending explained that the food definitely tasted different than what I (the bride) had received. My husband ordered the exact same thing... management never apologized for the long wait to get into our room, long wait to receive food (even a salad), lack of tasty food, lack of readiness of food, lack of flavorful food for the bride, lack of presentation, people walking through private party yet bridal party wasn't allowed to walk through restaurant to get to room. Wish Que Pasta declined the reservation instead of accepting to host our rehearsal dinner. Wish we didn't have to wait hours for even our first plate of food (salad). Wish management even apologized. We still haven't been back and are still very upset about the treatment we received leading up to the most important day of our lives. We won't be coming back even though I had been here many times previously, I am just too upset about that night. It was a...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that I have been to this restaurant several times, even during the pandemic for take out, and have always been pretty much happy with everything. So I decided to have a small gathering of 10 people to celebrate my son’s Baptism here. I called two weeks in advance to make my reservation, spoke to Willy (Jr. apparently) and was all set to go. Upon arrival, to my surprise, no one knew that we were coming. After a back and forth exchange of information, they began to scramble around to set things up. We stood in the walk in area for about 15 minutes waiting. Feeling embarrassed in front of my guests, disappointed, and fed up, I decided to call a different restaurant, which told me that they could accommodate us. So we left. Having to now drive to another place with all the guests, including an infant who has had a long morning as it was. Thankfully, I was able to find a different place LAST minute but if not then we would’ve had to eat here and maybe they didn’t even have enough staff to accommodate all of the parties that were going on at the same time, plus us now (which my reservation apparently disappeared so they had no clue that we were coming). Had they told me, when I called to make the reservation, that they couldn’t have accommodated me then I would’ve just looked for a different place from the beginning. But instead everything just turned out to be very disappointing. Too bad, because I used to like...
