Starbucks — Restaurant in Sadsbury Township

Absolutely unacceptable. On August 7th around 1:45 PM, a white male barista making my drink had visible cuts on his hands with no gloves, no coverings. That’s disgusting in any food service setting. I had to ask for someone else to remake it, which they did, but the fact that I even had to point it out is a major red flag for food safety.

To make matters worse, during a previous visit, the store manager, Maggie, was conducting an interview with her computer on the table. She had to get up for a quick second to show the applicant around outside, and as she left, she told her staff “make sure nothing goes missing” while looking directly at me, implying that I might steal something. I found this completely unprofessional and baseless for a so called store manager.

The environment is just as bad — the place has an awful smell as you sit and try to work, there are flies flying around everywhere, and on my very first visit, Jackie, one of the baristas, had the worst attitude. I travel for work and do consults in family homes as an IBCLC so I often frequent Starbucks as a place to complete paperwork in between visits. I purchase multiple coffees each week and am a loyal Starbucks customer. I stopped at the Parksburg Starbucks today and was sitting outside working on my computer. I was the only customer outside and there was one other customer inside. I did not purchase a drink as I had purchased one from ANOTHER Starbucks in my travels during the day. The staff came out to inform me I was not welcome to use their seating without making a purchase. My favorite Starbucks! Everyone is so kind and every single barista welcomed me when I walked in the door. My chai latte and breakfast sandwich came out so fast!
