I had made reservations for a different restaurant for Christmas Eve. About a week before Christmas Eve, Safety Harbor Spa’s Fountain Grille emailed me with their menu for Christmas Eve so I spoke with my party and asked if they’d like to switch the reservation to Safety Harbor Spa’s Fountain Grille as the first thing on their menu of 3 meals was prime rib and I knew we all love prime rib. My mom, step dad, cousin and boyfriend agreed so we went to Safety Harbor instead. We arrived to Safety Harbor Spa and there was only one other table get the service was so slow. We were greeted with a server who clearly didn’t want to be there and every answer she had for us was I’m not sure I don’t normally work here. 4 out of 5 of us ordered the prime rib and asked for it rare. She told us it was precooked so she didn’t know how rare they could get it, but she’d try. The wait for our food was extremely long and when we got it, everything was luke warm at best. We cut into our prime rib and although it looked like a nice piece of prime rib, once you cut into it we realized it was all completely sliced and shredded prime rib that was put together to look like a nice piece of prime rib. It was extremely bland and disappointing. Our server was no where to be found, so we all ate half of our meals and when our server still wasn’t anywhere to be found we asked the next person we saw for our check. Our server finally came over and threw our check on our table and said I heard you were in a rush. We said we still need our checks split up the way we asked them to be when we first sat down. She said well I was told you were in a rush so I brought it right out. I called Safety Harbor Spa on January 2nd as I wanted to give them time to get over the holiday rush and I voiced all of my complaints to a man on the phone who claimed he was a manager. He told me he would work on getting us a refund or credit but needed to talk to his supervisor and would have him call me back. I never heard back from them. I would never recommend nor go there again. This was a complete bait and switch by Safety Harbor Spa and I don’t appreciate bringing my mom somewhere for her first Christmas Eve living in Florida and the service and food being horrible on such a...

I wanted to take them somewhere that would impress them… and with the help of Francois, my quest was very 100% successful.
Very late on this Review from Saturday, February 12th… but I couldn’t go without sharing our experience at “Fountain Grille” located inside the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa.
Several things that I take notice of whenever I’m going out for a meal:
Atmosphere Quality, freshness and variety of foods Quality of customer service
The restaurant itself was spaced exceptionally well so that you didn’t feel crowded and you have plenty of room to navigate from your table to the Breakfast Buffet and about the restaurant when necessary. Also, all areas were spotless, orderly and set up with very appealing decor.
Our Greeter and Server, Anna, was on top of her game and very accommodating, even as the restaurant grew more and more busy with Diners.
Anna overheard one of the gentlemen in my group asking if Turkey Bacon was on the Menu… and she chimed right in and informed him that she will go into the Kitchen and have some prepared for us.
Options of Omelettes and the quality of the foods presented in the Buffet and Menu was OUTSTANDING!
Overall, this Staff really understands what great customer service is all about.
To this day, my guest have not stopped talking about the Fountain Grille and have vowed to bring the wives in for Brunch in the very near future.
A trip to the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa is well worth the trip no matter how far away you are.
So if you haven’t tried it… you’re missing out on a great...
Read moreWe had a party of 9 and when the grouper, salmon and crab cakes hit the table the whole place smelled like rotten fish, it was so overpowering half the table could eat their meal. My sister had the grouper sandwich and because she was so hungry tried to force it down but only got three bites in and when we left she almost threw up in the hotel lobby( luckily made it outside). None of the two grouper dishes or the two salmon dishes were edible and were left. One child liked her chicken fingers but I actually recognized them from the frozen box I buy from restaurant depot and heat up at home. The bruschetta sat in the kitchen so long the once crispy bread was soaked through and a complete soggy mess but the tomatoes and olives tasted ok just could eat it on mushy bread. The Mediterranean dish was actually the only good thing on the menu but to be honest how hard is it to slap hummus and open the bag of pita triangles and open the jar of olives and throw it on a plate. Dolmades on the med plate were good but looked store bought. The atmosphere looked like a hotel continental breakfast room at a holiday inn. There are so many great restaurants in Safety Harbor this is just not one of them. I paid in full and didn’t complain in person but I wanted to make sure others knew to stay away. The food is all frozen, old and something kitchen nightmares could have a...
