I've been coming to this location for years. Not sure what happened recently, but they incorporated a bunch of new staff that is slow, and rude, are mainly chit-chatting and giggling like a high-school clique and act annoyed when they're "interrupted" to do their job. I'll talk about my last two instances: the first one happened a few days ago, when I came in, with not much time, expecting the usual swift move to the line to get my coffee and bagel, and leave. What I saw was a big long line of customers waiting for one of six or seven employees working on a bagel while the others chatted and laughed and acted like they we're busy-working on something or simply wandered back and forth. After three more customers entered and filed behind, me observing no progress whatsoever in the bagel line, I decided to cut my losses and leave. The second time was today. I walked in and there were 2 customers. One of them complaining that with eight employees standing idly by, one of them could have made a bagle a long time ago, instead of keeping every one waiting. I got this large fellow with green hair up top his hair, who seemed to act amused at having to take my order. I asked for provolone, egg and sausage on sesame. He blanked out, giggled, and mumbled what I interpreted as a request for me to repeat myself. I patiently and politely said "egg cheese and sausage, please." He repeats it under his breath, waves me to the register and dismissively instructs me to go pay. He then proceeds to go un pack some strips of bacon, and leaves my bagel there, waiting. After a while he comes up to me from behind the counter, waiving impatiently what had to be the most carelessly wrapped bagel which, of course, did not have provolone but cheddar. At this point I'm irritated and show it, telling him I was going to eat it anyway because I was in a hurry, but that I clearly told him provolone which he then loudly denied. My tone got firmer when I had to reiterate that was not the case and he then mumbled something under his breath for his audience which could have been "learn to order a bagel" or something to that effect and which I decided to ignore. I told him to pay attention because it wasn't that hard. And left it at that. I hope they renew the staff here. The location is convenient to me but life's too short for kids with no work ethics and a bad attitude. I didn't want to have to stop coming here, but it looks like...
Read moreI decided to post this in hopes that the owner of the Bruegger’s in St. louis Park sees this post! I have visited this location only twice. The first time i waited in line for approximately 25 minutes (which i thought was a sign of a popular location) which turned out to be due to unprofessional and very slow service. Many people behind me walked out. When i placed my order there was a no greeting or enthusiasm to make my sandwich. I asked for American cheese on my order, they were out. When i asked if they could double check the manager (Josh) went back to check and came back and said there was none, they were out. I was never offered something else on the menu or encouraged to try something else. Instead i chose another cheese and it was not what i wanted. Today i decided to go back again since i was in the area and when i pulled up, one of their employees was at the front entrance sitting at the table, smoking. If i owned this business i would not want my customers to see this as a first impression of my store. Once inside i recognizes the GM, Josh and he asked me what i wanted. I started saying my sandwich choice and then stopped to ask if they had american cheese to which he replied “yes” so i continued with my order. When he was making this sandwich i mentioned to him that if i were a manager of the store i would want to know what i was going to tell him and then continued to say “as a customer i am telling you that i would rather not see an employee smoking right outside the front entrance”. He asked where, i told him and that was it. After this, he went to the back room and came back to tell me “we are out of american cheese”!!!!!!!!!! American cheese is a staple cheese and i clearly was DONE with this store! I said that i wanted to cancel my order and mentioned to him that i have been here twice and both times they were out of american cheese and then I walked out.... No reply from the GM of the store to say, next time you return we will have American cheese, please come back again..... Nothing!!! I am done trying to order a sandwich from this store. I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreI dont know where to start. I've been buying a bakers dozen at brueggers every Sunday for 25 years. The last 15 years at the one in Saint louis park. What will it take for them to get their act together at that location. The workers are doing their best with a great attitude but clearly poorly managed. Usually out of what I like and today no warm bagels available. Now , you order at the register, just seems to add confusion and I dont get to see my bagels being made That was part of the fun. This reminds me of Boston market Great product poorly run and evetually closed. I hope that dosent happen here. I went to the one in Edina and it was night and day. They were full of warm bagels waiting for me and it was incredibly well run and organized. So please get your act together. I've been tolerating it for years only because the bagels are usually good. I might start going to Edina anyways it's only 3 minutes further away. Ive been in the restaurant business for years..A few suggestions.... Have two designated people to take and make online orders. Have 4 people operate the bagel station. Have 1 baker and assistant to help. Each person holding down their position. Instead of what looks like scrambling all ovet the place. Manager must be prepared to jump in where needed.Manager makes sure all items are stocked at the station and keeps station clean among other managerial duties. I dedicated cashier that dosent stare off into space every few seconds. And let us watch our food being made...
