Of all the Italian restaurants, this is the most authentic "Red Sauce Restaurant" where I feel comfortable bringing my first-generation Italian friends from the East Coast. I love this place, the service is very unassuming and genuine. No sommelier, you will get very frank and accurate descriptions of the food and a very honest opinion of the the dishes. And they are usually pretty spot-on. When I tell local friends that I'm heading to DeGidio's for lunch or dinner, I get two responses. They've either never heard of it (and they get on "I'll be taking you in the near future") or they've heard of it and they swoon. The cocktails are pretty standard and the wine too is not Michelin standards, but it is excellent with the food. The food. The food is amazing. My friends Vincent and Giovanni (one of whom is a restauranteur) both love the food and have gone back. You cannot go wrong with the Tagliatelle Bolognese, Forgmaggio di Capra, a simple side of pasta and Italian sausages, or Porchetta Meatballs. Skip breakfast, prepare for a light dinner, and order the Hot Dago for lunch. You will be full and you will be happy. Sneak a glass of wine to go with it, it will make your day and your boss will never know. We did go one time and had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation to be seated, but stood in the bar and had a quick cocktail and the server was very apologetic. If you like good food and don't mind overeating... give it a shot!

Went here after a show downtown. Was able to make a reservation on a Sunday evening. Showed up early and they were able to seat us. You could see it is a nice family run place. Staff is very friendly and personable. We ordered: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo - my daughter ate most of it, but there was more than enough for leftovers Lasagna Bolognese - large portion for this. It had a lot of tasty layers with a good balance of meat, cheese, pasta, sauce, and cheese. Goey cheese as one would hope in a good lasagne Linguine Bolognese - large portion (and the leftovers tasted almost as good the next day); excellent flavor in the sauce, with lots of meat; pasta was expertly prepared Chocolate lava cake - fantastic texture and absolutely delicious, with wonderful chocolate flavor; one of the best lava cakes I've ever had; big enough to share, but you may have to fight over the last bite Tiramisu - one of my wife's favorite desserts and she declared it amazing; rich and decadent, with great depth of flavor; also big enough to share and worth every calorie Complimentary bread service was just as good as the rest of the meal; the herb butter was a fantastic touch; our server was more than happy to include extra bread and butter with our leftover boxes Every part of this meal was beyond our expectation. We can't wait to return.

Gluten friendly menu options. However, please be very weary & ensure your server & the BOH understands your dietary needs & what it is you can & cannot have e.g. wheat, barley, malt, rye etc. $13 calamari frito • buttermilk fried calamari with garlic pepper aioli ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Despite what you’ll read in the review of my pasta dinner, this is one of the best fried calamari apps I’ve ever had. Crisp, fresh, salty, garlicky & refreshing in a sense. (Not GF) $17 rigatoni & porchetta meatballs ⭐️⭐️ Had a feeling I wouldn’t be a fan, but, thought I’d try it anyway. The rigatoni was a little too al dente for me & to be frank, the arrabiata was bland & watery. There was more spice than flavor to this dish, even in the meatballs. They were one note & tasteless. (GF option) As much as I really want to like @degidios.restaurant as it was our first date night spot, I could do without another visit. We only visited tonight as our one year is coming up. Mikayla however, is super sweet. Very nice service. Oh, please take the AC down a notch or two, we’re not in Laos, it was freezing in the restaurant. Sorry Degidio lovers.

We took our family who was in town here for dinner. They are Italian so it's hard to please them. We got the olives and anti pasta plate to start. It was pretty good. Then we got some spaghetti and meatballs ...also they have a pretty good gluten free option that my mother in law needs. We got some of the tortellini bolenese which we were told was the best seller....the Mrs said it was ok but I got the special of the day which was rigatoni in vodka sauce with meatballs. This was a very good dish and fresh. They also had some fresh bread that was pretty good also. One thing we liked was they bring a bottle of water for the table....nothing worse when A waitress is busy and all you need is a water refill.. One downside they did not offer fresh parmeesian and a restaurant at this price point should be offering that. They do have street parking which is on busy west 7th...and a free lot that was full....but still free. The price and service were also good. I would go back here for sure and my out of town relatives all liked their meal check it out.

We went for our 1 year wedding anniversary and made reservations online to DeGidio's for 7:45 pm. We arrived and seemed like the restaurant was closing at 8 pm with a comment from the hostess to a waiter/waitress of them closing. They should have called us if this was an issue but they sat us down. We ordered pretty quick, the waitress made suggestions, and the food was amazing. The Goat Cheese appetizer was tangy with the amazing marinara and well seasoned, perfectly toasted crostini. The Tortellini Bolognese was delicious and the Shrimp Spicy Arribiata was good and paired well with the arugula salad. The salad was perfect with salty procciutto & parmesan and a lemony vinaigrette! We wanted to order dessert but we were given our check instead. The dinner was great but the service was not as good. My suggestion is do not offer reservations if closing at 8 pm, more friendly wait staff, and the tables needed TLC as the restaurant itself was very appealing inside.
