My boyfriend and I are from Kansas City, MO. We took a family trip to visit the twin cities with our three kids. While we’ve had a blast with them, we needed some time alone. We went out looking for a chill spot and good eats. After an extensive search and a craving for truffle fries, we stumbled upon Red Cow. This place was exactly what we were hoping for. As we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The host told us it would be about a 15 minute wait and suggested we sit at the bar to order a drink and glance at the menu while they prepare our table. Of course, we obliged. We ordered a couple espresso martinis which were phenomenal. A bit overpriced, but that’s date night lol. We were called to the host stand after less than 15 minutes and escorted to our table upstairs. The atmosphere was romantic and inviting. Our server Josh was fantastic! His knowledge of the menu and his suggestions were on par for upscale dining. (Thank you Josh! I hope this review finds you and your managers well). For starters, we ordered the cheese curds which were okay and the Ahi Crisps. We savored those like they were our last meal on earth. For the entree, we had the Barcelona burger. Prosciutto on a burger? Yes please! We told Josh that we would be sharing it and he brought it out split for us. That was a very nice touch that we didn’t expect. Overall, this place deserves all of the stars. The food, service and atmosphere were top notch and we look forward to visiting again someday. Thank you for the awesome date night, Red Cow!

The Red Cow is a staple of the St Paul restaurant scene. Located in the beautiful, historic Cathedral Hill district, the location is prime for visitors looking to get a glimpse into the high end part of the city. There are plenty of local shops and attractions nearby, including the scenic cathedral overlooking the city, only blocks away. Sporting an extensive beer menu, and a variety of appetizers and burger options, the Red Cow has all of the standard options for bar patrons and dinner guests alike. I ordered the Ahi Tuna crisps as a starter, with home brewed ginger beer as a drink. The crisps were full of flavor and the texture was utterly perfect. The ginger ale was a perfect pairing, the ginger flavor rich and strong. I ordered the cheese curds and tomato soup for dinner. Both arrived hot and well presented, along with an order of hummus that a friend had placed. This is a great place for a quick meal or a happy hour get together. Definitely worth visiting!

I can't even begin to write about Red Cow without drooling. We waited for over an hour, and I'll be honest, the wait was TOTALLY worth it! I see why they don't take reservations, because it gets packed for good reason. Every single piece of my meal and my date's meal was literally mouth watering. We started with an order of cheese curds (because you should definitely order them everytime), and then we spent over 10 minutes fighting ourselves over what items would be the best, because there were so many good choices. I went with the Manhattan 2.0 burger, which was a little pricier than the others but worth every penny. This burger was not only cooked to perfection the way I asked for it, but the quality of the ingredients truly stood out. My date ordered the seared ahi tuna burger and said it was in her top three meals ever! 5/5, will definitely return for an anniversary dinner, even with the wait!

I am writing to give accolades to the Sat night team in St Paul. I had ordered (at least, I thought I had) some food online after a very difficult, long day working and moving boxes, as I have just moved back to the neighborhood after some years away. I was so looking forward to my veggie burger, fries, and kale salad. Once I arrived to pick up my order, it didn’t seem to be ready. One of the very nice hosts checked several times for me, communicated regularly and clearly with me, and then kept checking as my order didn’t seem to be getting completed. She checked all the orders and found there wasn’t one in the queue under my name. I then looked at my phone and figured out that I had only partially ordered and hadn’t completed the final step of apple paying for my meal! So sad. She then said she would help me order it on the spot and found someone names James (??) who seemed to be a manager who could help me. He very quickly got my meal ordered (while helping multiple other people in the moment, I might add, including speaking very kindly to a server about a table who were waiting for their drinks), assured me it wouldn’t take long, and let me know he’d bring it to me as soon as it was completed. I told him since it was really hot in there (it was packed!) I would be waiting outside. I ended up walking around out front for a few min and then waiting in my car at the end of the block. About 8 minutes later, just as I was getting ready to make my way back in to the restaurant to check on things, lo and behold, here comes James walking down the street carrying my order. No coat, no gloves, no signs of stress on his face. In Minnesota winter! He was just walking around out there in the cold looking for me. Talk about going the extra mile! I jumped out of my car and exclaimed, What the H! How did you find me? And he very calmly replied, oh, I just decided to come out and walk around until I saw you...(??!!!!!!) Wow! What a guy! What a team! What a skilled, calm, and KIND bunch of people working in St Paul. I was truly impressed. On the busiest damn night of the week, they are KILLIN’ IT with great service and amazing hospitality! I...

My wife and I are regulars here. We have a soft spot for their wings and their double barrel burger. And just recently I tried a strawberry cider that was amazing!

However, this was the second time where my wife and I went and felt out of place. We’ve complained before bc we had a server who didn’t seem to care much for us and it showed in his service. But we kept going back bc again, the double barrel burger lol

Most recently we went and our server was Taryn B. She was very attentive to the table next two us which consisted of 2 men, 2 women and 2 babies. She seemed to be in a pretty good mood. However we could never get her to our table. We had to ask other servers for items, she didn’t bring our food or even check on us after receiving it. In fact, we literally had to flag her down for items like silverware, water and even napkins. Ultimately we felt neglected again which just doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

I hate to be the one to pull the race card but I can’t help but notice we’re the only black people there, every time we go. And maybe this is why… I don’t think this establishment too much care for black people bc the service we receives, reflects this.

My wife and I decided that we’ll no longer dine here. I highly recommend training. this could really be a learning opportunity for the employee. But I am very disappointed.. it’s 2023!

There is always a min of 3-4 people standing in the front, 4 by the bar, including the manager. I just don’t think there is an excuse for this. Dine at...
