Edit: Been coming here for a year and have always been super happy with the experience until today. The owner needs to talk to the male employees about their attitude and I say that to not single out the specific person who ruined my breakfast experience. I placed a very simple order and multiple people who came in after me got their orders before me. Not a problem, maybe they got something faster. I've worked in food service and I get it. I waited and asked gently if my order had been forgotten as it's not unheard of and it'd happened to me on several occasions over the years at different restaurants. I wasn't rude about it, just curious. The man asked my name, checked the bags on the back counter and said it would be up soon that "it had only been 5 minutes" and that "that's a typical wait time" like he was trying to make me feel stupid & impatient. I'm neither. (I've also been there during the busiest Saturday mornings without incident. Today was not busy, it was mid morning on a Tuesday.) That's what prompted me to look at my text receipt and the time on my phone-it had been 10 minutes. Mind you, the time it took was not a problem whatsoever and I gladly would have waited longer. It was just peculiar that the people who ordered before and after me we're long gone and I was still standing there waiting. It was the attitude I was met with that I didn't appreciate. Then, I was given a partially wrong order. Not an issue to complain about onto itself bc I don't expect perfection...but obviously things were handled out of order on the back end and I didn't ask for anything difficult or out of the norm. Generally, I'm impressed with the speed and competency of the people who work here. The woman who made my drink was cheerful and genuine. I witnessed the same from the other women interacting with other customers. Mistakes are forgivable. I fully would expect to be met with rudeness if I'd been the first to dish it out but unprompted rudeness to a customer making a gentle inquiry should be addressed. You didn't have to ruin my favorite breakfast place for me, bro. I don't want anything free. I just want to be acknowleded. Read other reviews and apparently others have complained of rude workers. This is my first time experiencing it so I'm taken aback by it. (Original review from March 2024) Went on a Monday morning around 10 and they got pretty busy. Had and egg and cheese bagel and a chai. Went back a couple hours later for coffee. It all tasted flavorful and fresh. The people who work there left a good impression, everyone was working so hard, they were organized and efficient. It was my first time and Christian was patient answering my questions, he made me feel welcome and not rushed. He was lovely. Good atmosphere and very clean. I only wish they had turkey bacon or sausage to substitute. Maybe owners will consider having an alternate option like places in...
Read moreI want to love Pete’s so bad but I’ve had SEVERAL experiences where my requests aren’t met and my order is subpar. This time around I ordered bacon and jam on a triple toasted bagel. It was hardly even toasted and it was very dry due to a super thin layer of jam. I feel like because they’re often busy now they give the bare minimum and it’s a shame.
You can only give a business so many chances before you give up on them. I loved Pete’s for a while but as of the last few months it’s just been disappointing. Food isn’t cheap these days so if I’m spending almost $40 on a coffee and 2 bagels, I’d like it to not be subpar…
Edit for the response I got:
Hi Steven, bacon and jam on a toasted bagel was listed word-for-word so how was it hard to know what I wanted? And I’m not sure why you would allow a build-your-own bagel option online and then call my 2 topping toasted bagel “pretty far” off the menu. Not to mention, the photo shows nowhere near toasted with a thin layer of jam for a $1 up-charge. If your ordering system allows total customization, why wouldn’t I request it how I want it? If you don’t validate customers and take accountability, you might as well just turn off the customize option and only allow specific sandwiches like other businesses (e.g. Golden Dinosaurs). Also no worries on the free bagel, that wasn’t the point. I only wanted to put it out there as someone who has been a regular and had issues on several occasions. Just helping to provide insight on how to...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pete's Bagels in St. Petersburg, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This charming local bagel shop has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots in town.
The bagels at Pete's are nothing short of fantastic. They are fresh, chewy, and have that perfect crust on the outside. The variety of flavors they offer is impressive, from classic everything and sesame to unique options like jalapeño cheddar and blueberry. Each bagel is lovingly crafted and bursting with flavor.
What sets Pete's Bagels apart is their dedication to using high-quality ingredients. The cream cheese spreads are creamy and rich, and the toppings are always fresh. I particularly enjoyed their Millennial Bagel Sandwich with a fried egg, it was a amazingly good. It totally hit the spot!
The atmosphere in the shop is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to start your day. They offer indoor seating and outdoor seating. Their indoor seating has a mini local shop in it, kinda like a general store vibe of what's made local. The outdoor patio looks like a secret little garden! The staff is friendly and eager to assist with your order, making the experience even more enjoyable.
If you're in St. Petersburg and craving a delicious bagel, Pete's Bagels is the place to go. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you won't be disappointed by the tasty bagels and warm hospitality at this gem of a bagel shop. I'll definitely be...
