Tasty Treats Cafe — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

We tried this place this morning based on all of the really good reviews. Either these people live in an alternate reality or they just do not know what is good eating.

First off, this place looks confused, the atmosphere looked as if they do not know who or what they are.It was messy and unorganized. From the "decor", the table with miscellaneous stuff, equipment maybe, utensils for cooking I don't know...., to the thrown together coffee condiment station, this place was a mess. But we had high hopes for the food and they were shattered.

The coffee was horrible, not fresh at all. The food and drink were all served up on Dixie paper ware. We both had the bisquit and sausage gravy with an egg. How could this go wrong you ask?

First of all the bisquit itself was tasty, light and fluffy, but that gravy and egg!! Yucko!! The gravy tastes like Italian sausage, and the egg was a thin dry brown round of what tastes like they had been around a minute. Too top it off, it was all not heated to temp.

I discovered Tasty Treats on a hangover morning about 7 months ago and they have since become my daily lunch spot for not only myself but the entirety of the office I work in. Everything they make is delicious and probably underpriced while looking exactly like the photos on their menu! Laurie and Chris are absolutely delightful and while I'm not a fan of people in general I've come to enjoy my daily conversations with them. I frequent their chef salad but my coworkers rave about their BLTs and chicken salad sandwiches, the breakfast options are also amazing and the homemade biscuits and gravy are something to rave about! They prepare all of their food the way people actually WANT to receive it instead of serving the overpriced garbage we've come to expect from everyone else. This New Mom and Pop has created a great environment for the community. They have great bake Items available, the scratch kitchen menu has some of the freshest ingredients and excellent food.

Chris and Laurie are a husband and wife team making a dream happen in the community. Enjoy being a local when you visit this establishment half ways between the beaches and downtown.
