Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Salem

I went here for the first time on Wednesday night (11/30). I walked inside, and there were absolutely no greetings, no welcomes, nothing. I found my way to the ordering area, and the guy asked what I wanted. I told him I was new and had never been there before. He wasn't friendly, and didn't really help me pick what I wanted. I asked him lots of questions about what kind of cheese they use, and how big their sandwiches are. I decided to get a Turkey sandwich, but asked them whether I should get a giant or a regular, and they said the giant was only 12 inches. I was like "what, why should I get a footlong here when I can go across the street to subway and pay half as much?" Instead of telling me how their product is better, he just suggested that it was up to me, and didn't tell me about how they were better. Some random punk weight lifter kid sitting down in the lobby overheard the conversation and acted like he was all beefed up on testosterone ready to beat me up for questioning the guy at Jersey Mikes why I should get my sandwich there. His T-shirt looked similar to the workers, so I smarted off "Oh, yeah, I'll tell your manager you're talking like that" He immediately fired back and stood up telling me he doesn't work there and showing off his tiny muscles. It's hard to tell you in writing but this guy was short, looked like he was on roid rage, just zero muscles. I'm 6 foot 1, and 350 pounds, I could drop this guy in one slap. I continued to place my order and ignore him, but what shocked me is nobody stepped in and stopped him from causing such a large scene. No manager, nothing. I continue to place my order and while they're making it I ask the guy making my order if I could talk to the manager, and he tells me he's the manager. Then I told him I wanted extra cheese, but asked him how much it was. He had NO CLUE how much it was and had to look it up. I then made a remark and said "So you're a manager and don't know how much extra cheese costs?" His response was "Yeah" I was really shocked. Well I finished ordering and was shocked how huge this sandwich was. I paid a lot of money, but got an insanely huge sandwich. I went home and ate it. I couldn't finish the giant in one sitting, but it was very good. I give this place 3 stars because of the poor first time experience and rude staff, but the product is the best. I encourage you to try it, just ignore the staff because...

I place a rather large online order for my office today and lets just say that I was having some technical difficulties. After reviewing my order online everything looked corrected so I went ahead a placed it. When I later looked at my receipt that was emailed to me I noticed that none of the sandwiches had the extra stuff taken off like I asked for like 'no onions" or extra bacon stuff like that. I then called Jersey Mikes to talk to them about my order and see if it was just a mess up on the receipt or if in fact the order was being made wrong, and yes in fact the order was being made wrong :( but long story short they were super awesome and re-made my entire order for my team and totally saved the day! Which was super awesome let me tell you cause I did not tell them but this lunch was a going away lunch for a team member who we were celebrating her last day at our office with us. So just want to say thank you and give a huge shout out for going above and beyond without even knowing how much it meant to all of us! It has been 6 months since I have been "chosen" to stay within the walls of my own home. Sure I can be considered as one of those with a compromised health issue...yet in late January after grocery shopping I caught a "germ".

I kept trying to escape. It wasn't a huge threat as my Hubby knew I wouldn't drive anywhere without him. I am not a fan of driving. (I will tell you why another time.) The Hubby wanted a Sub sandwich and we finally agreed to try a place neither of us had been to before. Except when I reviewed the menu, I said, "They have Tuna-His-Favorite and he said he knew." Seems to me he had already been to the JM's.

After downloading the app, I ordered a Tuna and a Club. I also picked us a couple of Brownies and Lay's Chips. I added a 20 oz Pepsi for me.

The Super Crew at Jersey Mike's had our order ready exactly when they said they would in the properly protective manner.

Our lunch was DIVINE. I dreamt about it that night and now 2 days later I want it again. Isn't it fantastic when what you want is even better than...
