Sewell Sweets — Restaurant in Salem

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.

I came in this morning around 11 am. I was promptly greeted. There wasn't a line but a customer in front of me. I have been itching to try this place since I saw someone recommend them in the comments of the salem eats page. I went I a rabbit hole from there on the personal Facebook.

I was offered an espresso brownie sample when it was my turn to order. I believe it was the owner at the counter but didn't ask. He was just a really friendly gentleman. I didn't bring my phone in, but the entire store was clean and beautiful. The display case was like a lil treasure trove.

I got one of everything in the case and a mini cake. They were sold out of the lemon lavender tarts. They had a great variety of cookies and brownies. My only regret is not getting the couch cake. Honestly, it's in a perfect snack container it was an apple cake.

They items were boxed in a white box, and I was offered spoons and forks to eat with. They also serve coffee at the shop.

They change the items in the case daily.

I got the blueberry lavender mini cake - 12$, a guava cake parfait - 12$, a coconut mango cake shot - 4$, and a peach cake shot - 4$. The total came out to 32.00, which wasn't too bad, in my opinion. Basically the same cost as a cake from any box store.

The blueberry lemon mini cake was a great balance. The brightness of the lemon really paired well with the sweetness of the berries. The frosting wasn't overly sweet. The fruit was sharp and jam-packed with flavor.

Both the cake shots and the parfait were amazing. I absolutely love the coconut mango one.

Sewell Sweets is my new go-to dessert shop in Salem. It really just hit all the right marks for me, and it is different from what we currently have.

I need to make a point to come to this store more often. The treat have just amazing!

I have the daily special drink and it was call Winter Mist (I think). It was orange and cranberry flavored tea that was just amazing!!

I have been wanting to get this review done since the week before Christmas but alas the holidays held me up a bit. I wanted to make sure I spent some real time talking about this new bakery. It is so good I have to give it some proper attention. The bakes are made in house and that may sound like not a big deal but when you see the beautiful decorations and the arrangements one can see that this is a labour of love and the proof is in the taste. They have a wonderful attitude which fills the place with a happy calm. They have seating so one can enjoy their bake right away. They have a wonderfully rich brownie and I had one of the best double chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. EVER. I love the attention given to details, the double chocolate chip cookie had a sprinkle of sea salt on it which, of course, brought the taste up a level. Sea Salt is usually on a chocolate chip cookie but having it on a double chocolate chip cookie was what had been missing in my life. For the holiday season they had ready baked and packaged blank gingerbread men on a bed of mini marshmallows on a charger dish. It came with 4 different coloured icing so one could decorate their own gingerbread man. The whole plate was festively wrapped and made a lovely fun gift for my wife. I cant forget to mention they have drinks! and in house made syrups too. I had an espresso and my wife a gingerbread latte and it was so good. One can clearly taste the difference, as this was hand made liquid gold in my espresso! This is a wonderful addition to downtown Salem and a spot we will definitely be...

We had an amazing experience with Cat! She was so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process.

During our consultation, Cat suggested some wonderful designs for our cake and helped us create a unique and special design that perfectly matched our vision. We felt so heard and understood throughout the entire process, and the end result was absolutely stunning.

One thing that really stood out to us was how she worked directly with our wedding coordinator to make sure the cake would not melt due to the extreme heat on our wedding day. We felt so reassured knowing that everything was taken care of, and it was just another example of the excellent customer service we received from her.

On our wedding day, the cake was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. It was absolutely delicious, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it - they said, "we've never seen a cake as beautiful as this before!" We were so happy with the final product, and it made our special day even more memorable.

Overall, we highly recommend Sewell Sweets to anyone looking for a beautiful and delicious cake for their special event. Their attention to detail, creativity, and excellent customer service made the entire experience a joy. Thank you for making our wedding day...
