A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I am thinking of abandoning my quest to build schools in Africa and instead standing outside this establishment warning other customers! I would probably do as much good for society! I entered the restraunt at 6:17 with my family in tow. I was finally allowed to order at 6:30. Irritating but understandable considering they were training a new employee and he seemed eager to learn and excited to be there. I ordered some cheese curds some corn dogs and 2 sandwiches. At 6:50 I had still not received my food!!!! I felt awful demanding service from the manager as no one after me had even had their order taken. But I was desparate to feed my baby. Another customer commiserated with me as her wait had only resulted in a half full root beer float. It would have been one thing if the employees had been hastily working or helping other customers or had even seemed interested in seeing that a customer paying for 5 meals was helped, but as it was it was intolerable. I finally received my lukewarm and burned food with a missing sandwich that I waited 7 minutes for standing at the counter (same poor people still without their order taken), and which no employee even asked me about just handed to me after 7 minutes. Bottom line worst management, and most apathetic unmotivated employees...

This was one of those KFC/A&W places. Food was ok. This place is usually only frequented via drive through. We decided to go inside this time around. There were only two two-person groups total ordering though the lobby. Ordered quickly enough and sat down. Lobby area looked aged. Posters are the pinnacle of Early Photoshop marketing. Not sure if the dark spots in the corners were the tiles or years of grime settled into the grout. It was difficult to tell in the dim lighting. Seemed like it was only staffed with two people, maybe a third. Explains the "Now Hiring" Sign out front. We ordered first but the other group got their food first. My Companion went to check on our order. Other group took their food back to the counter. They mixed up our orders. It may have been that the majority of customers come via Drive Through so when there are lobby customers it might throw off their groove. This is a prime location. Corporate should upgrade the place and give the employees...

I've been here twice in the 10+ years I've lived here and I wasn't happy with either experience. The first time they had people working on the landscape and couldn't hear me and told me to go to the window before I could view the menu. That didn't work out so well. The next time I ordered a kids meal for a four year old who was counting on the "surprise" they advertise. SURPRISE! You don't get anything special, just the food you ordered, which has maybe too many options for a kids meal. The food is crazy expensive. I felt like they doubled what I had added up in my head and I'm really not that bad at math. The kid ended the interaction with "Have a finger licking good day."
