Horrible service. Not friendly. Rude. Hostess useless. Horrible food. Dirty dishes and glasses. Way over priced for the quality. Read more below
I ordered 5 items. The 1st thing that came out was the fresh water eel. It was over cooked , dry, the rice it sat on was not sticky, no flavor. Never again.
The second item yellowtail. It's tasted like it has been sitting out way to long. It felt like I was chewing on soft rubber tire. No flavor it didn't even taste like yellowtail it tastes like frozen fish that has been thawed out smelled like old fish.
3rd item that came out. Calimari there in no doubt that it is bought at Costco. It was processed calimari I bought some calimari at Costco that looks the same and taste the same it was not chewy it was like eating a hush puppies. When I go to a sushi restaurant. I want fresh, at least real food not processed.
4th item was tempura that was ok how could anyone mess that one up.
5th item was the mussels. I love mussels. The mussels that came out we're the most disgusting mussels I have ever seen and tasted. I don't believe there were mussels on the shell. They had some toppings and sauce on them. I took 1 bit and I could not eat the other 3. I had to eat it with a spoon not a fork. The second one I slowly removed the stuff on it and didn't find any mussels on it. When I order mussels I want mussels. Not a shell with only sauce on them. More like soup on a shell. Maybe there is mussel flavor added it tastes horrible. Maybe they buy shells and put that sauce on them. Hope they don't reuse the shells. I told the waiter it tastes horrible he didn't take it off check. He said most don't like it and few do. You think they would want everyone that likes mussels like it not just a few people.
Don't get the mussels, yellow tail or the calimari. I ask the waiter how old is the fish, 1 to 2 days old when they get it so by the time they serve it it's already 3 to 4 days old maybe more.
I lived in so cal for over a decade. I would eat at sushi restaurants at least 2 to 3 times a week. And yellow Finn has got to be the worst one I have ever been to. It's not good unless you don't know any better. I would rather eat a fish sandwich from McDonald's. Service is horrible ,unfriendly people and staff . I don't care what the place looks like as long as it's clean . If the food is good that's all I care about. Because that is what I am there for.
54.00 dollars
8.00 for 4 mussels , yellowtail for 5 pieces 14.00 , frozen calimari 9.00, tempura 9.00 , water free
I travel a lot I always get sushi in just about every City I go to it's got to be the worst sushi restaurant. Like I said if you don't know what good sushi is. It's going to be a great place for you.
I normally don't do such a extensive review. But this place needs a overhaul. It's not good food. Unless you like poor...
Read moreIt’s difficult for me to rate a place so low. I never do this… it was just so bad. First of all we got there at 8:45-8:50 and the restaurant was closing at 10pm. Plenty early (hate to be the ones that might keep people working late). When we got it we were told that the sushi bar closes at 9pm so we had to order before then. It was a bit annoying but we rushed to order some sushi since it’s a sushi restaurant. Strange that the sushi part that is 80% of the menu closes an hour early. But not a big deal. We ordered the Nigiri plate, Jolly Rancher, Caterpillar, and the Nitro. I don’t know how, but the sushi was actually just bad. I’ve been to many many places and never had a problem before, but most of the rolls were incredibly bad. The Nitro tasted like nothing and was just mostly rice. Very little taste, and had some sauce (under the roll mind you) but tasted terrible. The caterpillar roll looked fine from the outside, but inside was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. It had the smallest piece of eel through it that I’ve ever seen, and then it was literally just 80% cucumber besides the eel. Huh?!?!? So you go to eat it and it’s just eating a crunchy cucumber for most of it. And being a premium roll at $15 for 80% cucumber? Wow. The Jolly rancher was fine. (I’m not a fan of spicy tuna but my friend ordered this and it was actually the better of the three even with spicy tuna that I don’t like. I can’t knock something because of having an ingredient it says it has, so we’ll rate this based on my friend who gave it about a 6-7/10. The nigiri was fantastic (for me). 9/10 on that. My friend didn’t like the salmon or tuna nigiri as much, but overall it was an incredibly disappointing experience for $80 for both of us with tip. I could have gone to any other place and had much better sushi for that price. I’m just still thinking about how bad the caterpillar was. I’ve never had a bad caterpillar … how do you mess that up to...
Read moreI'd consider myself an infrequent regular of yellowfin for the last 6 years, this place was my cheap and close by option. (I eat a LOT of sushi) Nothing stunning, they only had salmon, tuna and yellowtail most of the time but that's pretty standard here in Utah. They've been a solid choice in that time. Unfortunately, prices have steadily been increasing over the last two years but quality has markedly decreased.
Stuff from the kitchen is pretty good, if you do visit and like fish, I highly recommend the kama, it's cooked and has always been tasty. But I unfortunately had a horrible experience today and I don't think I'll be returning. Madai that was tough/rubbery and tasted like it had been sitting unrefrigerated on the counter for a few days. The fishy taste was overwhelming and I am glad I was served nigiri despite ordering sashimi. Mussel shooters that were so salty I had a tough time keeping them down and had no other flavor than salt. Which is unfortunate, I love shooters and not many places make them.
I ordered two rolls to go, I hoped that rolls might at least be decent. I opened the box and the two 16$ rolls (sugar House and jolley rancher) I ordered had no sauce, no dressings, no toppings, nothing..
Just feeling really disappointed, especially for 100$. All the best to the chefs/servers who stick around to keep...
