IT’S FAIR TO PAY FOR YOUR EXPENSIVE FOOD. I am a new customer and got the takeout. I am so picky with foods because of my allergies, and the host lady was so patient and explained to me so well. She has a British accent, and she might be 13-15 years old. I like genuine kids, and your restaurant is so brilliant.
You guys were so busy that night. I love the environment inside the kitchen. However, I accidentally witnessed a server lady talking to the host. Sorry I have mental issues with fair control; in my opinion, the server was too much, and this is too hard to me to stand for it, so allow me to report. Making a mistake is human. Whatever mistake, nobody was born to be mistreated, like being loud, pointed, saying F words, and disrespectful to someone like that even a kid.
I was so disappointed because I thought the staff would also work professionally. I would assume that server was a boss since she didn’t want to listen to the host and make the host be little by the server.
The host was busy in the kitchen, but she wasn’t disrespectful to someone that annoying her. For me, this host is out of the world because she can handle the stress and still work so well, like taking care of customers’ food. The delicious food can make some people (like me) curious about inside the kitchen of the restaurant
I still want to give you five stars because I love your food so much, and I haven’t seen a kid defend herself, but I still respect the rude lady. Your restaurant is perfect, so I hope the boss is another perfect one to organize the staff. The server works as a server and the host functions as a host. I want to see the host lady again. I sincerely believe that your restaurant can keep developing every day. I definitely will come back to dine in by chance. Thank you for treating the world the...
Read moreI came here with, and on recommendations, from the son and wife, on a Sunday afternoon. What a revelation. Everything was hitting on all cylinders. I don't normally go all 5 stars on a first visit, but I'm piggybacking on the kids experience. I totally trust him. It's a nice clean modern industrial look. It's got the biggest Edison bulbs I've seen. The owner makes it around to each table to see how things are going, and is very nice. He has a good memory of his customers as well. This is not a straight up Vietnamese restaurant. It has Chinese dishes as well. Including, wait for it, proper Peking Duck. It takes the full two days to dry the skin with it's glaze, and marinade the duck properly. The duck comes out all carved up beautifully. My only nit is that they supply bao buns for wrapping the meat. They just provide too much bread to meat ratio for me, although the daughter in law prefers them because of the flavor they add. I found I could tear them in half, and each half opened up like a pita. That worked well, however, I'd like the traditional thin pancake. Our appetizers were delicious. The pork dumplings are obviously not frozen, bought from Sysco, types of dumplings. The wine list, and sake list, are marked up similar to other restaurants. The choices are interesting and well thought out. A wonderful,...
Read moreI have been coming here for years. I went in with a visiting friend. The calamari was too salty (it's usually great!), and the Bun Bo Hue was the big disappointment. It was too sweet and watered down. Some of the noodles were in small blocks due to it being under cooked/not prepared properly. This is my favorite home meal. It was also $16. I wish it gave me anything for that price. Another restaurant, Pho 99, has consistently good Bun Bo Hue for $12. My friend also didn't receive a glass of Coca Cola. The waiter ran a can out to us as we were leaving. Like on the way out. I unfortunately can't come back here again. I know I'll ruin Vietnamese food or Salt Lake City for someone. Go to Pho Cali of Pho 99 in West Valley instead, they've never done me wrong.
UPDATE DEC 2023: I wanted to give this place another chance. Once again I bought the calamari and Bun Bo Hue and to my shock, the soup was still watered down, still too sweet and not spicy. The calamari was the opposite of last time and was too bland. For $16 dollars, I am used to the calamari portions Mi La Cai Noodle House gives, with bigger pieces and you also recieve rice. Conststently good. This is so unfortunate. I thought I was being rude and judgemental, I know everyone has an off day. Now I realize I should not have expected...
