New name, same great subs and fries.(not anymore)
My first review was 2 years ago, and I was impressed. Since then, it has been hit and miss on the food and service. I have been going to that building for sandwiches for over 35 years. My mother started taking me there in the Grinders 13 days. I have introduced friends, family and co-workers to that shop for a long time. My preferred sandwich has always been the large Krab, and over the years, it was consistently good. It always had the same, or seemingly the same artificial Krab, with long pieces that came apart kinda like string cheese. It wasn't the normal Krab chunks I would see at the store. I went there yesterday to get one, no tomatoes and no onions, like always. The sandwich finally came out, with the correct instructions written on the white paper, so I brought it home. As soon as I opened the wrapping up, I was overwhelmed by the smell of onions as they fell out of the sandwich. I tried to pick them out the best I could when I noticed the Krab was different and made up of the red and white 1-inch pieces I avoid at the store. It was slimy and mostly tasteless except for an onion here and there. I could only handle a couple of bites before I had to throw it away. My favorite sandwich ruined, $13 dollars down the drain, and an empty stomach is what I got. There are plenty of sub shops in Salt Lake to choose from, so I'll go to them from now on. The service has also...

Embarking on this review is like trying to capture the essence of a sublime Italian sub that's been haunting my daydreams. Picture the finest capicola in the state, cozying up with hard salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, provolone, impeccably cut white onions, mayo, and a dash of sub dressing – all chilling on a cold sub. It's a masterpiece.
Quick shoutout to Gaetano's "Inferno Sauce" – a revelation for a saucy aficionado like me. Seriously, when you swing by for one of their sandwiches, don't sleep on asking for a side of this chipotle heaven. Your taste buds will thank you.
Now, let's dive into the experience. Every time I waltz into this joint, it's like a warm welcome party. Multiple team members dish out the friendliness, making the whole experience of grabbing my food downright delightful. The owner is a local legend – well-known, respected, and a massive supporter of other small businesses in the area. Meeting someone this awesome? Pure thrill.
If you're into heavenly subs, killer sauces, and an all-around good vibe, this spot's your haven. Here's to mouthwatering bites and meeting the cool cats behind the...
Read moreWe've lived in Salt Lake City for 7 years now and are just now discovering this place! I consider myself a sandwich lover. And I mean I have tried all the sandwich shops in Salt Lake City area, even all the way to Draper a d up to Ogden area. This is the very best sandwich shop I've ever ordered a sandwich from! Like, EVER. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STOP IN AND GET YOURSELF A SANDWICH, ASAP! I order the ham, turkey and roast beef. It was large enough for my husband and I to split it. The jalapeno poppers are also amazing. I wish I would have took a picture before we ate it! We ordered it around 4:00 and waited till 6. I can't imagine how much better it would have tasted had we actually eaten it right when I ordered it. But since they close at 5:00 PM, I decided to order early for dinner. We were craving a sandwich and I drive past this sandwich shop all the time on my way to the beer store in Costco. I am so glad I decided to stop here today! I guess I'll be back to order another sandwich sometime this week! I'll be sure to take a...
