Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in San Antonio

I came in a couple minutes after some others in my party, they were already seated. The waiter had terrible customer service skills from the beginning. He got one of the drinks wrong, ordered sweet tea got dirty water unsweetened tea instead. Our cups stayed empty the majority of the time we were sitting down eating. Mind you very few others in the restaurant and we were all pretty spread out. Our plates stayed on the table we had to keep asking him to come remove them. While he tried to put my plate down he accidentally knocked my drink over. It all went across the table getting the person in our party across from me wet. He then very slowly continued to grab the food from the table next to us and serve it instead of addressing the situation at hand. After being done he came and gave the person wet, a rag, and then put another on the table the table to clean the spill. It wasn't until all this was done that he said he was sorry and never really seemed to apologetic to begin with. Our first round of unlimited boneless wing took easily 25 mins to 30 mins the round after that was maybe 10. The server never once asked us if we wanted more, how we liked the food, anything. My wife wanted dessert but instead we were just brought a check didn't even get asked if we wanted anything else. From this moment I told him the dessert my wife wanted. The manager brought it out. He had another plate in his hand I told him when he had time to come back and speak with me. He came back right back. Listened to what I had to say. I just feel like he didn't care really, considering I complained about all the dirty dishes and cups being one thing and he didn't even grab nothing when leaving. He had a smile when Apologizing. He did comp some things on our tickets. Honestly don't go to places looking for things that I can complain about so I can get things for free, but definitely don't feel like we left very satisfied at all with any of it. We've been coming here for YEARS, without any issues. Tonight (Oct 24th), we were given some of the worse "service". Our waitress asked if we were ready to order at 9:56, we kindly asked for a COUPLE more minutes to look over the menu. Within that 2 minutes, we were ready to order. HOWEVER.. our waitress never returned. The hostess sat a table next to us, and our waitress greeted them, took their drink + food order and we thought surely she would tend to us since were less than a foot away. Nope. She brought back their drinks, greeted and delivered drinks to a THIRD table. Goes up to a FOURTH table to cash them out, greets a FIFTH table, and busses a SIXTH table. At this point she still has not asked us for our order. Being a server myself for MANY years, there was multiple opportunities she had to take our order but did not. It was getting late and we were hungry, so I had to find the hostess and request a different waitress (I knew this would get the attention of our orginal waitress), sure enough...she came over saying,"I was busy". Yeah..... that's not an excuse. Like I've said, I'm experienced in the food industry/management, and she could have taken our order with the other tables order or prioritize assisting us over bussing an empty table. They gave us a new waitress and this lady didn't care about us at all.. we waited so long for our check, we had to ask the manager for it. He gave it to us, and we waited even LONGER for someone to collect our payment. I had to go look for the manager and ask for assistance AGAIN. Like I said, we've been coming here for many years, and have never had issues even on nights that were busier than tonight's crowd. We're usually out within 30-45 minutes. Tonight we were there for 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES. That's how long we waited for service throughout the night. The food came within 10 minutes. It was pure lack of service. Get it together and treat people fairly.. after all, YOUR TIPS...

We went to Applebee's to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. We had a party of 10. My husband and I went on to reserve the table around 530p and were seated rather quickly. I didnt care for the atmosphere of the restaurant. The decorations and fixtures were tacky. We took a long time to review the menu as we waited for our party to trickle in. Just looking at the menu made my stomach hurt. Our waitress was prompt and kind. She brought refills and checked in us regularly. I didn't catch her name though. When the majority of our party arrived, we ordered. My husband ordered a full rack of ribs, half sweet chili/bbq with mashes potatoes and french fries. I ordered the fish and chips daily special with fries and broccoli. I think our order came out quick considering we had a large pary. My husband received his ribs and mashed potatoes. The waitress informed us the kitchen was making another baych of fries for him. The ribs looked dry with sauce slapped on top. The mashed potatoes looked ok. Upon first cut, my husband knew it was going to be tough. He ate it anyways and gave me a bite to try. It tasted unseasoned and dry. The sauces were thick and didn't have a flavor I was expecting, in the bad way. My husband spread his mashed potatoes over the ribs and it rectified it enough for him to eat it. His fries didn't come out until we were ready to pay. My plate came out with 3 pieces of cod with fries and 3 small pieces of broccoli. It looked off but I couldn't pin point it. I cut the cod in half and smelled each piece. I didnt smell anything off putting, so I dismissed my gut feeling and ate. There was nothing renarkable about my plate. It was bland. We paid and left. When we left, I was hit with nausea and stomach pains. I tried not thinking about it. When we got home, i gagged and felt the urge to vomit. I was stuck in the restroom for about an hour and a half.
