Paseo — Restaurant in San Antonio

Paseo bar is in the Estancia Del Norte hotel. We stayed here for work and decided to dine in the hotel restaurant. We started with the chips with queso and salsa. These were fantastic, some of the best queso I have ever eaten. I’m fairly certain they used onion powder in the queso. I could have had them for a meal. I ordered the steak and fries. It is a 10 oz NY strip steak. I asked for medium rare and it was slightly over done, but still very good. It was tender enough that when I picked up my butter knife by mistake, it sliced right through it. The butter on top was excellent and added to the fresh ground pepper, it was very tasty. The fries were fries. Seasoned but unremarkable. My wife order the brisket and burnt ends dawg. It came covered in Mac and cheese and fresh sliced jalapeños. It was fantastic. Our server, Dani, was very attentive and took good care of us. The only downside to this place is the live music. It is so loud that you cannot have much of a conversation. People at the bar got louder and louder trying to talk over the music. It was good music, just...

This was another place that I came to just sit and do my homework. I chose a spot because their food looked really good and they seemed to have a wide variety of you. Also, it was very nice, and their drinks were also well-made. They have a huge bar that you can sit at and there’s a room past the bar that has some artwork also! I’m not sure if the artwork gets switched out or anything, but it was cool to get some pictures and definitely unexpected.

All of the food and drinks that I had were really good and I did not get the chance to try one of their hotdogs which was one of the things that it seems like they are known for. I did have the quesadilla and truffle fries and that was more than enough for me, the serving was a lot, but at least you got your money’s worth.

The bar is at the bottom of the hotel on the first floor, and so you will see people that are coming and going, but it was still relaxed and quiet for the most part. I will come back to this bar in the near future since it has a little bit more of a casual energy to it, but you can dress up or dress down...

The Paseo staff are masters of hospitality. ✨ They are so attentive to our needs without being intrusive, and their warm, welcoming personalities make you feel instantly comfortable. They genuinely seem happy to go the extra mile to make our stay special.

I also had the pleasure of enjoying both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and both meals were absolutely phenomenal! i often come just to eat there – the food is that good.

I was particularly impressed with the service I received from Danny, Max, Monica, and Lucas. Their dedication to excellence was evident, and their genuine care and "servant's heart" made a real impression. They clearly take pride in their work and love what they do.

Thanks everyone! You made our Mother's Day staycation extra special for my wife and family....
