Disappointing Experience and Unacceptable Customer Service
Our recent visit on June 8th 2025 was unfortunately a significant disappointment, particularly concerning the customer service and operational management. As a family of five visiting San Antonio for a wedding celebration, we were part of a large group of over 70 people, many of whom were also from out of town. The wedding coordinator selected this venue for lunch after a church event, leading to a substantial influx of customers. The primary issue stemmed from the extremely poor handling of the large party and the attitude of the kitchen manager. Throughout our wait, we observed a white lady kitchen manager speaking condescendingly to multiple customers, creating a generally hostile atmosphere. When it was my turn to inquire about our order, which had been placed online over an hour prior, I was met with an incredibly dismissive and "snobby" reply. Without even asking for our order details, she declared that if we had ordered online, we wouldn't receive our food because they were not processing online orders due to the size of the party. This response was unacceptable for several reasons. Firstly, our online order of over $100 was processed and paid for without any issue or communication about the temporary closure of online services. This raises serious concerns about their online ordering system and its ability to manage capacity or communicate effectively with customers. I brought this to her attention, suggesting that they should immediately disable their online ordering app and place a clear sign at the pickup counter to inform walk-in customers. It also made me wonder about the fate of other customers who might have been expecting delivery services. Given the manager's confrontational energy and the uncomfortable scene that unfolded, we ultimately decided not to eat the food, despite it being prepared. While I cannot comment on the taste of the food, the overall experience left us feeling deeply uneasy and unwelcome. No customer should be made to feel that their food is being prepared under such contentious circumstances. For locals, I urge you to stand up for yourselves if you encounter similar bullying tactics. For out-of-town visitors, it might be beneficial to mention your non-local status upfront, as there seemed to be an assumption that visitors would be less compliant. Overall, the lack of professional communication, poor management of a high-volume situation, and the manager's disrespectful demeanor made for an extremely negative dining experience. Read moreI'm scoping this place out today. ATM the prices on line seems very reasonable. I wished they had more pictures of their burger meat on their website. I'm a little worried that "Big'z" burger is gonna have "small'z" burgers. I don't think I'm the only one tired of these new burger joints serving you on a small cookie sheet a mediocre burger with the decorations on the walls and high price tags. "Where's the beef?!" I hope they are impressive as they are confident. For owner... Hang tight I'm not done with the review yet. I can see you have passion and pride in your business like I do in my review. She helped us with the return. The place was very clean! Huge! Felt empty I mean it was ...it's a Thursday. I ordered the 1/2 pound burger with cheese. Toppings seemed of good quality and served on the side like a bowling alley. I asked for Medium well. I got Well Well Done. See pictures as I held it with 2 fingers and it did not flex. Super salty... like I eat salty food all the time and this was too much. The manager agreed this was not medium this was well. -So recap. Atmosphere 5 stars. Maybe a small playground for the kids? -Besides the wonderful manager the staff must have thought it was Monday. -4 stars on service due to the manager. If it wasn't for her I'd rate it 1 stars. -food I have given it a 1. I had to return. Too much seasoning! I like to taste the meat too. Way too overdone. Even for well done. The meat was dry. Holy bread Batman! Soooo much bread. The bread shouldn't be 3 x thicker than the meat. But this is my opinion. But the bun had flavor. The quality of meat from what I can tell was good. Read moreWent there on a Saturday night, I was expecting kids playing, live music, a friendly environment and what I got was a depressing atmosphere with my 3 year old. Outside play area is really small compared to the other 151 location and the gates to keep the children in were broken not being able to close all the way causing a safety issue. Also wood fence pieces were missing another safety issue. I wish I would of just left and spent my precious time and money with my toddler at chicken and pickle at least there I would know for sure live music would be there. This place was SUPER DEPRESSING a family nearby brought a game of sorry to play together which is cool but the only thing I felt was sorry for coming and spending my hard earned money here for an experience I was left feeling very negative about.
